It's the old Libya flag back when it used to be a kingdom. Figuratively, the flag of "free Libya" (read NATO occupied Libya).

It's the old Libya flag back when it used to be a kingdom. Figuratively, the flag of "free Libya" (read NATO occupied Libya).

Really the funniest thing i've read about a response to Ghazafi has been the Arab League proposal to set up its own no-fly zone . Does the Arab League, the third largest circus in the world after the UN and Cirque du Soleil, really know how hard it is to maintain a no-fly zone in a country as big as Libya?

In order to even commence a no-fly zone tactic, you must first bombard the country's air defense forces and wipe them out in order to ensure the future safety of your aircraft. Basically, it starts with declaring war on another country. Then hundreds, if not thousands, of your aircraft have to be in the air to maintain the no-fly zone at all times given how huge Libya is. The Arab League can't even get all countries to participate in one of their conferences.

Looks like Gadhafi's army has some mean looking ice cream trucks

Looks more like a trailer at the back end of a SUV or Blazer.

It looks like typical propaganda shoot by some amateurs.

The state the “ice cream“ van is in, suggests its been hit some time back 15-30 minutes at least.
It appears the “rebel “ is expecting his toasted compatriots to come out and ask for butter and marmalade to be spread over.

Pity we do not know the name of the “hero”.

It seems China and Russia oppose the notion that the default solution to any crisis is western military intervention.

The absurdity of embattled Libyan leader Mommar Gadaffi’s reign has many dimensions, one which is the
“Al-Gaddafi International Prize for Human Rights,” which last November was awarded to none other than
his closer friend and ally, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The prize is awarded every year to an individual who has worked toward protecting and advancing human rights.

“The Prize categorically believes that freedom is an indivisible natural right for Man; it is not a gift or
grace from anybody, and that safeguarding it is a general human responsibility,” said a press release
describing the award and announcing the 2010 winner.

Erdogan, who traveled to Tripoli in November to claim the “coveted” prize was honored.

Reports say Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi and the president of the Arab League have agreed to a peace plan from Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez aimed at ending the crisis in Libya.

Venezuelan Information Minister Andres Izarra said Chavez spoke with Qaddafi on March 1 about the possibility of creating a bloc of "friendly countries" to launch an international mission to mediate between Qaddafi's regime and rebels who seek to end his 41-year-old regime in the North African country.

The Al-Jazeera news network reported that Venezuela's foreign minister had spoken with Arab League President Amr Mussa, who also agreed to the plan.

No confirmation from the Arab League was immediately available. It was not clear what other countries might be involved.

Qaddafi and Chavez have been described as close allies.
