  • Sometimes hard to back up minorities?

As a progressive, the idea of protecting the rights and representation of minorities is something that is very important to me. However, I have noticed that quite often it is minorities themselves that are the insular, racist, backwards, superstitious, ultra conservative or just generally xenophobic towards others, especially towards people in other minorities. I can understand the historical reasons for this kind of behavior in various minorities, and it does not diminish my strong belief in equal rights for minorities at all. But I do feel that sometimes minorities are glorified and romanticized as something nobler than the majority in the abstract sense, yet on an individual level many people who are in minorities possess a lot of traits that no progressive should ever be supporting. Just an observation.

Depends what minorities you are referring to, and what individuals within those minorities you are referring to. Some minorities are justifiably more moral, honest and hardworking than others, as for individuals you have to judge on what they do rather than what they believe, you can find anarchists, libertarians, and communists that in actions support a progressive cause while being deeply against it in their beliefs. If you judged Armenians solely on their devotion to Christianity then you would be ignoring everything else about Armenians, such as tolerance of other religions and cultures (including Islam which is inexistent in the majority of Americans for example), tolerance of different ideas, and an open minded philosophy that many minorities such as Greeks, Armenians, Assyrians and the like share going back thousands of years.

A good example of minorities being intolorant is the present state of Isreal. The xxxs have lived as minorities for so long that they themselves have became "insular, racist, backwards, superstitious, ultra conservative or just generally xenophobic towards others, especially towards people in other minorities".

But in Israel xxxs are the majority, not the minority. I didn't just mean population-wise in the whole world. I was referring within a particular country, specifically I meant America.

Yes now that the xxxs are no longer a minority look at how they treat minorities. I am simply pointing out that your point applies to other minorities as well and even more so in xxxs then in armenians.

Ignorant of me, I though jooishness is a religion not a race.

I don't believe anyone said they were a race, just that they are a minority, which isn't a term that is limited to race. Though 'race' is a problematic term in itself, so I tend not to use it. However, there is such a thing as being ethnically xxxish.

How is that, can you educate me on that issue and take me out of those dark ages?

I don't know why you have to add superfluous and (seemingly) sarcastic remarks to everything you post. It's hard enough understanding you with strange grammar and way of constructing sentences. Don't prolong the torture of reading your posts with extra, unnecessary text.

Anyway, I'm a bit surprised I actually have to 'educate' you on this, since I thought it was pretty common knowledge that people who identify themselves as xxxs can also be secular or atheistic. It isn't terribly complex to be ethnically xxxish, it comes out a shared heritage with other xxxs and a strong sense of preserving particular types of food, music, art, language and values associated with the xxxish people. Just from my personal life experience, I would say most xxxs I know are ethnically xxxish and far fewer are actually people of faith or followers of Judaism as a religion.

I'm really not sure how this thread became so xxx-centric. I guess it's to be expected on a forum where apparently antisemitism is so rampant that the very word xxx needs to be censored as if it were a cuss word.

The Joozs are nasty, insidious, race of hypocrites, who promote cultural degeneracy, multiculturalism and Liberal death cultism in Western Christian states in order to undermine them. Whilst administering their own illegitimate state along the lines of a Nazi death camp.
