The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. -- F. Scott Fitzgerald
how did the whole idea of blondes being (well how can i say this) not as intelligent as brunettes started? not that I have anything against them. lol, but just wondering how the whole idea started. hmmmmm
That stereotype comes from the days of yore. Well actually I don't know when yore was. They come from: Medieval medicine..back when they used to bleed people for everything from being to sad to being too happy(yes TOO happy, hehe, i'd be out of blood really quickly if i lived back then!) they believed it was an unbalance of fluids that caused these extremes in personality. They also felt that external traits could determine internal qualitys. For example, not only were blonds dumb, but so were those w/large shoulders. Also, red heads and skinny people were said to be incredibly short tempered. etc....
Oh yeah, and for those who have ever bleached your hair to be blond, they are dumb, or 'dizzy' because they suffer from peroxide poisoning-- they have brain damage from the bleaching process. It's true. So sad!
