      No, it was lazyness.
Ya see, I started to read the thread from the top down, then read it from the bottom up, but failed to read the middle coz that bit looked rather boring.
      Very sorry Ari.
And thanks for being so honest about your ignorance karoaper!

PS, anyone know if I am right in my assumption that there were no canned drinks, beer or anything, in the Soviet Union? I remember around 1992 I was on a train from Batumi to Tiblisi and was sharing a compartment with a Georgian family. They offered me food, and in exchange I gave them some cans of Fanta that I had brought from Turkey. They had no idea how to open them, and had never seen drinks from cans before. They took the empty cans away with them, to show to friends.

In Turkey you couldn't buy canned soft drinks until the late 1980s - and even then they were all imported from Cyprus.

Wow, I thought I would never see it: A post by bell-the-cat that's not "vacuous and bombastic", patronizing or condecending...just a simple question as if he was a nice guy (but we know better ).

Re: Holy chip, I love eBay!

And I thought a couple of AU blokes for the weekend was a little odd… (Human Soul, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) US $15,000

"What you are bidding on here is my very own soul. the immaterial part of a person...The winner of the bidding will receive an official-looking certificate verifying the transfer with my full name as the original owner of the soul, my signature to verify my willingness to sell my soul, and a professional wax seal. After your successful bid on this item, you will be able to claim full ownership to my soul for the rest of etirnity or until the certificate is destroyed, voiding the contract and releasing my soul...Happy Bidding."

I do think I remember there being something about misspellings that null an ebay listing, though. Perhaps the lister knows that...

Gee, given the context, I could post this ‘rock’ and be a gzillionare. http://imaginart.canalblog.com/images/Yin___Yang2.jpg

As they claim, ‘whatever IT is…’ (the auctioneer is such a creep, though... )

Well i suppose one can carry the framed certificate around in their handbag. Could be handy to use it for self defense. Next time someone tries to mug you slap that certificate in their face and tell them that the e-bay soul will haunt them for the rest of eternity.

On another note, I joined ebay yesterday, now I can sell the blue tongue lizard that lives in our backyard it's known for good luck hahaha
