My boyfriend and I are coming up on our 2 year anniversary. I asked him what he wanted he said an XBox 360 so that's what he's getting. First he wanted to get me a guitar. For one I don't play guitar so I told him honey I'm sorry but I know its just going to collect dust. And now he wants to get me a Nintendo Wii. Yeah it would be cool gift for a birthday or christmas but not our 2 year anniversary. I just want a gift from the heart, is that to much to ask? How should I tell him with out hurting his feelings since this is the second gift idea that I'm turning down

Re: coming up on our 2 year anniversary
Hi I feel its most difficult to choose a gift when it the occasion is something as special as anniversary. In my case my boyfriend does not speak out his mind to me so there is no question of selecting something of his preference. However in the years that we have been together I do know some of his likes and dislikes. I want an opinion from you all whether I should ask him about this or shall I let it to be a surprise from my end, the bottom line is at the end of the day I want to see his smiling face and nothing else. Any input to this would be most appreciated.

Re: coming up on our 2 year anniversary
This brings back the remark my mother had made to me once "just because someone doesnt love you the way they want them too, doesnt mean that they are not loving you in the way they know how"
Perhaps he thought that his suggestions were something you would really like, ergo being "thoughtful". Either way, I agree with PepsiAddict: As long as its chosen from the heart and not just the first thing you see on a shelf in a store and if what matters to you is seeing his smileing face, then be thankful for whatever he throws your way....
as long as it isnt socks, hehe.Last edited by sad_eyes; 03-18-2008, 06:25 PM.

Re: coming up on our 2 year anniversary
I think it is kind of weired to ask your friend what he would like for the two year anniversary - that's what you do for christmas or birthdays, but not for an anniversary.
I don't think gifts are even necessary on such an occasion - why don't you just have a romantic dinner in a nice restaurant or something like that.
I think if you really want to give each other presents it should be something personal - a photograph, a poem,...but a Wii or a Box are weired gifts for such an occasion to my mind.

Re: coming up on our 2 year anniversary
I don't think that gifts like that are appropriate for an anniversary and I also find it stupid to ask someone what he would like to get for the 2nd anniversary.
This day shouldn't be about presents - probably you can have a nice dinner together or give small gifts to you, something personal like a photograph or something like that but an XBox or a Wii are very strange presents for an anniversary to my mind.
