  • Meeting people online

I'm suprised no one has brought this up yet. What do you think of meeting people online?? Making friends, 'activity partners' (lol ), more than friends..... Whatever you want to call it. Would you do it? Obviously we're all doing it to a tiny extent because we're on here talking/chatting/exchanging ideas.... But I mean taking it to the 'actually meeting for real' place. What are your thoughts? Would you be too timid/scared to do it? I guess we kindof talked about this when Surfer (who is on vacation and says HI EVERYONE!!) said we should all meet up, but we didn't really talk about it more than that. Would you do it to make friends or to find someone to have sex with (trying to cover all the bases)?

I have done it before and as much as I tell myself I will not, I will most likely do it again. One of my best friends, Darby, I met online while looking for musicians to jam with. I have been telling myself that it is a pathetic thing to do but I have been wondering whether I should reconsider. Maybe it is a better way of meeting people.

I've done it before...It's kind of nice because u get to know a person before u actually see them...U get to know them on the inside and so on...But, I think physical chemistry is more important than we think. It's kind of not fair when u get feelings for the person and then don't find them attractive.

If the opportunity ever came up, I'd be very willing to meet the posters that I've interacted with on this board.

Jahannam: we should see each other at Harout's concert in Montreal. (unless you're holding soem grudge against me )

        Tigran: Armenia 2005

Flames: That café in Yerevan where we talk about life in Armenia (open to all others who want to join)

As for the others, we'll set a date. CK, toon al Hayastan goo kas? Or you were gonna be in Montreal this summer, right?

400? To fly to Montreal in FEBRUARY?? Haha. I would've thought you'd be the only person in the plane. Did you check online, or found some good armenian sources? The prices can differ greatly (online being waaaay more expensive usually).

Best thing to do is contact a travel agent. If you have some relative who works in the industry, you can get some great prices.
I looked at cheaptickets.com for our Armenia trip, and it came to over 1900-2000 US per person. Through this armenian agent, we got 1500 Canadian, back when Canadian was worth about 68 cents US.

                  HUUUGE difference

I've met plenty of great people online. It's not that big of a deal. Both for dating and for friends. Nice to have pen-pals, too.
