I realize this is an old thread but I wanted to comment on this.
Its funny how us girls are, always wanting our guys to be happy and do everything for them.
I do hope you are healing well.

Don't flatter yourself. If you really feel that way (I seriously doubt it), then you must be the only one in your sex. If anything, you girls are experts in the art of deception (self deception being most important of all).

So what about all those women who use kids to hurt their ex-spouses? Do they want them to be happy? And girls who lie to cops that their ex-boyfriends raped them definitely want their guys to be happy (in jail getting raped).

Thats the hardest part I would imagine. If you have talked about marriage, then letting go is difficult.
But, in any case I do still hope your healing is going much smoother. Sometimes, you just have to focus on other things.

Personally, I wouldn't want him to hurt more. Knowing that someone I love is hurting because of me, well thats no fun.
But, if I know he is hurting, and I am as well, then maybe breaking up is not the best thing. Maybe, some time to figure things out?
