Originally posted by violette829Actually, I don't agree with what you just said. You think 99% of ALL MARRIAGES are like this??WHy would you say that? I have like 2 married couples in my family who live with the inlaws. That's just wrong. I don't know any women who are like what I just described up there. I've just heard of stories about these loser guys. It's pretty sad really. The population of young people in Armenia is dwindling. tsk sk sk....
Even though I have great in-laws and I love them as my own family, I love having my own place and my indipendence. But if they can get along and they don't mind living with their in-laws, I think thats fine. I know some couples that live with the girls family because they couldn't afford to live on their own.
I'm still don't agree with bringing a girl from Armenia.
Oh while were on this subject... I know this girl who brought her husband from Armenia.

I know alot of marriages in which the guy brought the girl from Armenia that are like that. Okay maybe not 99%, maybe more like 95%. As far as living with the inlaws is concerned... I think its up to the couple to decide. I'm married... and I used to live with my in-laws in the beginning, but my husband and I decided it's better for us to live alone.Even though I have great in-laws and I love them as my own family, I love having my own place and my indipendence. But why do people assume that if they get a mail order bride or a girl from Armenia that they are going to be any better than the girls that live here (US). I mean think about it... would you buy a car without test driving it first??? Some people would but I think most people wouldn't. I mean were talking about a lifetime commitment and how can you just take a chance like that? I mean for me I wouldn't just settle with someone just to start a family. Especially someone I don't know. Who knows what kind of person they are. I guess I'm getting a little worked up about this issue because I am against the whole arranged marriage thing and this is remotely similar. It's kind of personal.
From my experience, I have seen guys winning a greencard and when they become citizens, they fly out to their homeland and bring their sweethearts whom they've known since high school and now can be married in the U.S.I'm not sure why I said this, but I did and it's sweet. Well, their reaction after a long time of not seeing each other is cute.
