Re: NBA Season
Spurs played a very weak and disappointing game. It's not as if the Lakers came out with full force and shut them down, I admit that much. The Lakers played with confidence and as soon as Spurs fell apart within the first five minutes, the game was pretty much over. I didn't, for a second, think Lakers would lose even when they were only winning by 2. It was all hype, last minute adrenaline and turnovers by the Lakers that gave them the opportunity. I do admit, however, Finley was on fire with his 3s.

Originally posted by One-Way View PostCorrection, Kobe was on fire yesterday! He didn't do much tonight, and in all honesty, he's not the reason they won the game. The bench was very impressive today, especially Powell who has been great lately. They didn't save Kobe for 4th, actually, he was playing throughout the entire game and wasn't really doing too much.
Originally posted by One-Way View PostSpurs was playing horrible up until the 4th quarter. The "score didn't change" when Parker got in because he was playing throughout the entire game too. The score changed and Lakers started slipping because Spurs probably got a nice beatdown at halftime. Also, Lakers just died down which was expected. By the way, Parker played horribly.
Originally posted by One-Way View PostCorrection, Parker barely made any free throws. Again, he was doing horribly. You shouldn't worry about Finley, the game was pretty much over and nothing could have saved them.
Originally posted by One-Way View PostHonestly, Lakers didn't receive much of a challenge and won simply because Spurs was doing so horrible. I'm not saying this as a Lakers fan, I'm calling it like it is. If you watched the entire game, you'd realize Lakers didn't really do anything impressive. Kobe wasn't going nuts like last night, and everybody was playing mediocre. If Spurs had played better, it would have been a much closer game and Lakers would have had to switch to their serious mode.Last edited by iFemale; 03-12-2009, 08:01 PM.

Originally posted by iFemale View PostOk. I'm not a big fan of the Lakers, but they beat the Spurs today. I believe the score was 102 to 95.
Aside the rest of their players, Bryant & Gasol were the only ones that impressed me. I'm not too fond of Kobe, but I gotta' admit, he was on fire. Honestly, without Kobe, I don't think they would have made it with flying numbers. They pretty much saved the best (Kobe) for last (4th q.), setting aside his 3 fouls. On the other hand, Gasol pretty much, sort of, led the team as Kobe sat out. What can I say? The guy's a freakin' giant.
Originally posted by iFemaleMaybe it was just me but I felt that the Spurs were falling asleep in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters! Lakers looked like all they had today was Redbull! And notice how the score changed during the 4th quarter when Parker got in though, the guy was swifting and shifting himself through. It's like Parker had to come in and wake the team up! Wth?
Originally posted by iFemaleThe Spurs barely made any of the freakin' free throws, which really saddened me, and every time they stole the ball, having the most perfect open-opportunity to make the shot, they missed. One more thing...what the hell did Finley do towards the end? What an idiot, leading the Lakers to more free throws! And I will close with a big fat UGH.
