Genrikh Kasparian Memorial is being held in Jermuk, Armenia from June 24th to July 5th, 2010. The participants are WGMs Hou Yifan (China), Antoaneta Stefanova (Bulgaria), Pia Cramling (Sweden), Tatiana Kosintseva (Russia), Maia Chiburdanidze (Georgia), Xu Yuhua (China), Nana Dzagnidze (Georgia), Lilit Mkrtchian (Armenia), Elina Danielian (Armenia), Shen Yang (China), Baira Kovanova (Russia), Martha Fierro (Ecuador).

The World Chess Championship will take place in the Azerbaijani
capital of Baku, FIDE has decided.
It will take place from May 1-31, 2011.
Among the contenders is also the Armenian chess player Levon Aronyan
who had earlier said in public he would not participate in this
championship should it be held in Azerbaijan.
According to local Armenian sports news website Armsport.am among other
8 contenders are Magnus Karlsen (Norway), Vladimir Kramnik (Russia),
Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria )m Boris Gelfand (Israel), Gata Kamsky (US)
and Temur Rajabov (Azerbaijan).
The name of another player will still have to be decided by the
organizers of this championship.

blindfold chess games at Amber Blindfold and Rapid Tournament going
on in Nice, France.
In the 1st round, Aronian lost a blindfold game to Russia's Sergey
Karjakin, yet managed to win a quick chess game. In the 2nd round,
he was defeated by Norway's Magnus Karlsen.
In the 3rd round, Aronian will play vs. Jan Smeets (Netherlands)
Currently, Aronian is the 11th. Ukraine's Vasily Ivanchuk and Ruslan
Ponomariov are in the lead in the overall standings with 3 points from
4 games, followed at half a point's distance by Vladimir Kramnik and
Peter Svidler.
Levon Aronian (born on October 6, 1982 in Yerevan) is an Armenian
Grandmaster. He is the winner of FIDE Grand Prix in 2008 and 2009 and
2009 World Rapid Chess Champion. He was honored with Movses Khorenatsi
order in 2006 and with an order of merit in 2008.

Aronian will probably beat or tie all the top ranked players there and then with everything on the line he will lose or tie to a low ranked nobody and lose 1st place..

Nice, France from 13 to 25 March, 2010.

16-year-old David Shahinyan from Vanadzor, Armenia
Was the best, with his outstanding achievement, in the B tournament of the Moscow Open which was held in the capital of Russia.
He scored 8,5 points out of 9 and solely took the first prize among the 400 chess players of the tournament.
By the way his result was also the best among the 1226 participants of the festival.
