- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)

- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Pistons to retire Rodman’s No. 10 on April 1
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP)—The Detroit Pistons plan to retire Dennis Rodman’s No. 10 during a halftime ceremony in April.

The eccentric rebounding specialist helped the Pistons win NBA titles in 1989 and 1990. He’ll be honored April 1 when the Pistons host the Chicago Bulls, a team Rodman won three championships with from 1996-98.

Detroit rookie Greg Monroe(notes) currently wears No. 10 and will be allowed to keep it.

Rodman averaged 8.8 points and 11.5 rebounds in 549 games as a Piston. He was the league’s defensive player of the year in 1990 and 1991.

Rondo scores 26 as Celtics beat Magic 91-80

BOSTON (AP)—Rajon Rondo(notes) scored 11 of his 26 points in the third quarter when the Boston Celtics capitalized on Orlando’s cold shooting to take charge and go on to a 91-80 win over the Magic on Sunday.

Boston led 46-43 at halftime and stretched that to 70-55 with 3:36 left in the third quarter. At that point, the Celtics had made 9 of their 10 shots in the period while the Magic had hit just 4 of 18.

Orlando scored the last six points of the third quarter, cutting the lead to 70-61, but the Celtics came right back with a 7-2 run to go ahead 77-63. They led by at least eight the rest of the way.

Paul Pierce added 18 points and Kevin Garnett had 16 for the Celtics, who improved to 23-4 at home. Dwight Howard had 28 points and 13 rebounds for the Magic, who lost for the fifth time in eight games.

Nets beat Anthony in first game since talks end

NEWARK, N.J. (AP)—Who needs Carmelo Anthony

The New Jersey Nets certainly didn’t in their first game against Melo and his Nuggets since owner Mikhail Prokhorov told his team to halt lingering trade talks with Denver for the All-Star forward a little less than two weeks ago.

Brook Lopez(notes) scored 27 points, Devin Harris(notes) had a career-high 18 assists and the Nets gave Anthony an indication why he might want to play for New Jersey with a 115-99 victory Monday night.

“This was something I never experienced before with the trade situation, so not just me, everyone was fired up” said Nets guard Anthony Morrow

It showed. The Nets hit 53.2 percent from the field, shot 60 percent from 3-point range, forced 16 turnovers and outrebounded the Nuggets 38-27.

Morrow said it was nothing personal against Anthony, but it was a desire to show that the Nets (15-34) are good enough to win with their current personnel. They are 5-3 since the talks ended.

“Everyone had that chip on their shoulder,” said Morrow, who scored 18 points on 6 of 6 from the field. “You could kind of see the look in guys eyes even this morning at shootaround. It’s a situation we’re just glad we’re still here and wish them the best of luck the rest of the season.”

Anthony gave the fans who jeered and cheered him at different times a clear indication why he is so valued, scoring 37 points—two shy of his season high— to keep his team in the game.

Anthony, who continues to be involved in trade speculation with the NBA deadline on Feb. 24 approaching, wasn’t surprised by the Nets’ effort.

“Why shouldn’t they feel a little extra motivated tonight in a game like this, knowing that their names have been in cahoots with the Denver Nuggets for the past couple of months,” Anthony said.

Anthony also felt the credit for the Nets’ turnaround belongs to Prokhorov.

“I think he really did it more for his team,” Anthony said. “Ever since he made that statement, they’ve been playing hard. They seem like they’re committed and as a result they beat us tonight.”

Travis Outlaw(notes) scored 13 of his 20 points in a big first quarter and Kris Humphries(notes) had 15 and nine rebounds for New Jersey, which hit 9 of 15 3-pointers.

Harris and Lopez insisted the Nets were more concerned about ending a two-game losing streak than making a statement about the proposed trade, which had players worried about their future for weeks.

    Harris came close though.

“As a player, you always have that pride, you want to take it upon yourself and know that we think we have enough to win,” he said. “It’s not always within our control, but this is the best way we can speak for ourselves, going out and giving it a great effort like we did tonight.”

Chauncey Billups(notes), who was also supposed to be sent to New Jersey in the deal, had 17 of his 19 points in the second half. Nene added 16.

New Jersey never trailed after the opening minutes and led by as many as 18 points in the first half.

However, Melo wouldn’t let the Nuggets go away and Harris, who was the major part in the Nets deal to the Nuggets, wouldn’t let Denver get over the hump in its comeback.

Trailing 82-69 with 2:36 left in the third quarter, Anthony hit a jumper to ignite a 9-3 run that featured six of Billups’ 11 points in the quarter.

The lead shrunk and it looked as if it was down to 85-81 when J.R. Smith(notes) hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer, but it was reviewed and waved off because the shot left his hand a split second too late.

Denver managed to cut the lead to four points three times in the fourth quarter, the last at 96-92 on a drive and jam by Nene with 7:43 to play.

Harris then drove for a layup to ignite an 8-1 run that ended with six free throws, one courtesy of a technical against Billups, who was miffed a foul wasn’t called when he was stripped for his seventh turnover.

Denver never got close after that.

New Jersey scored hit 25 of 40 shots from the field in the first half, including 6 of 8 from long range, in taking a 63-50 lead over the Nuggets, who were losing their second game in as many nights.

The halftime point total was a season high for New Jersey, which needed it because Anthony was single-handedly almost as good.

Melo scored 23 in the half, hitting 6 of 12 from the field and 9 of 10 free throws

Spurs ground Rockets for 18th straight home win

SAN ANTONIO (AP)—The San Antonio Spurs are the NBA’s first team to 40 wins, and got there faster than the four-time champions ever have before.

Maybe three weeks on the road will make things more challenging.

Manu Ginobili scored 22 points and the Spurs hit 40 victories by winning their 18th in a row at home, beating the Houston Rockets 108-95 on Saturday night.

“I’m just speechless right now,” said Spurs center DeJuan Blair, who had 14 points and 12 rebounds. “Because it’s just such an honor to be on this team, on this quest for greatness, and we’ve just got to keep it going.”
SAN ANTONIO, TX - JANUARY 29: DeJuan Blair #45 of the San Antonio Spurs dunks against the Houston Rockets during the game at AT&T Center on January 29, …

Richard Jefferson added 18 points in what was San Antonio’s last game at the AT&T Center for three weeks. The Spurs (40-7) embark on their annual Rodeo Road Trip starting Tuesday, testing the NBA’s best record against nine straight road games.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has traditionally used the trip as a distraction-free chance to work out the kinks. But with the NBA’s best record, the Spurs have few obvious faults—and are so far ahead in the Southwest Division (9 games) that they could lose every game on the trip and still be at the top.

Luis Scola led the Rockets with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Houston trailed just 76-71 after the third quarter before being buried by a flurry of 3s, and finished the game looking winded a night after nearly overcoming a 25-point deficit in a loss to Dallas.

“They don’t beat themselves,” Rockets forward Shane Battier said. “We were right there with them for a half. We played pretty good basketball, then we had that lull where we couldn’t answer their 3s and their big shots that created separation.”

Houston has lost four of six.

Tim Duncan, in jeopardy of missing the All-Star game for the first time in his career, had 12 points and seven rebounds as every Spurs starter was in double figures. Fans didn’t vote in Duncan as an All-Star starter for the first time in 11 seasons, and he must wait this week to see whether coaches vote him in as a reserve.

Blair’s double-double was his eighth this season. Tony Parker added 17 points and George Hill(notes) had 14 as the Spurs moved two wins from tying the franchise record of 20 straight home wins, set during the 1989-90 season.

“You keep competing, executing and trying to improve,” Popovich said. “It doesn’t matter if you have the best record or the worst record.”

Kyle Lowry had 15 points for the Rockets. Houston’s road trip won’t get any easier: the Rockets head to Los Angeles on Tuesday to play the Lakers, then finish another back-to-back Wednesday at Utah.

Kevin Martin and Chuck Hayes added 10 apiece for Houston.

“We were in the game all they way into the third quarter. But they were too solid. They are too solid,” Scola said. “Most solid team in the NBA. They’re the best team in the NBA, period.”

The Spurs went 5-for-8 behind the 3-point line the fourth, including Ginobili sinking two with a close hand in his face both times.

Hill’s 3-pointer with 7:32 left capped a 7-0 Spurs run and stretched the lead to double-digits for good.

Three months into the season, the Spurs are already just 10 wins shy of matching their 50-win total from a season ago.

San Antonio’s road trip won’t be as grueling a gauntlet as years past, either: Only three of the nine games (Portland, the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago) are against teams with winning records before the Spurs return home Feb. 23 against Oklahoma City.
