WRESTLERS WITH ARMENIAN SURNAMES EXPELLED FROM RUSSIAN TEAM

      Aysor
      April 7 2010
      Armenia

Russian national wrestling team has expelled athletes with Armenian
surnames, who were before reported as participants at the European
      Championship in Baku.

Team's chief coach Gogi Koguashvili said: "We were planning to contest
Seyran Simonian and Migran Harutyunian, but later we had to change
      our plans."

Koguashvili said that Simonian was injured and is preparing for
surgery, while the team's management made a decision to expel
Harutyunian from the list of participants, for obvious reasons to
      have no track with provocations.

"I believe that the Azerbaijani side will make efforts to provide
security for participants of Armenian origin; however, there can be
someone out of balance, whose actions can be unpredictable," said
      Gogi Koguashvili.
