Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Re: Armenian Soccer

Well since we are talking about how great the azeri team is:

Azerbaijani Reporters Throw Toilet Paper, Antiquated Bathroom Device At Soccer Coach After Loss

Jack xxxxey — And you thought Gregg Doyel's (silly) question was as rough as it could get in a postgame press conference.

After a 2-1 defeat at Kazakhstan's hands in a Euro 2012 qualifier, the Azerbaijani press corps decided to express their displeasure with some advocacy journalism.

Azerbaijan's national soccer team coach, German veteran Berti Vogts, was pelted with toilet paper at a news conference in Baku on Sunday by journalists angry about recent results.
The journalists — some of whom also gave Vogts a pitcher used for post-toilet washing in the mainly Muslim country — demanded the German's resignation after the team's Euro 2012 qualifier defeat to Kazakhstan on Friday.
Local media reported he intended to press charges against the perpetrators.
I suppose that green pitcher is a good example of the pitcher in question. It's Muslim custom—Azerbaijan is 99 percent Muslim, though its head coach isn't—to use such a jug after defecating in absence of a bidet. (We'll say, if possible, splurge on the bidet.)

Perhaps Vogts would be best advised to stop saying xxxx like this before losses to so-so teams: "Our aim for the next qualifier series will be to become the world champion in Brazil in 2014, win the European champion in 2016 (laugh in the hall). We have already become first in singing. We have already become one of the best in wrestling and judo. Now it's football's turn."

That is, of course, if he isn't fired before the next press conference. Azerbaijan plays Vogts' native Germany on Tuesday.

Apologies for posting this here, this does not deserve a new thread.
But thats just one stadium, how will they be able to host multiple games in the other stadiums, that dont meet UEFA and FIFA requirements? Out of the region (Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan) Armenia had the only stadium that met UEFA and FIFA requirements. On a positive note:

Edit: I wonder what Barry thinks about this? Azerbaijan spending a billion dollars on a soccer stadium while the refugees live in a broken down building?

Armenia's Under 21 just beat Montenegro's Under 21 4-1. We scored 3 goals a man down. Very good game by our players.

So is Ozbilis really going to play for Armenia in the late summer? Other than the article posted by Fed I have not seen anything else.
For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

from what ive heard he agreed to play in the friendly against Lithuania but i dont know what FIFA rules say about playing in a friendly (meaning if he plays in the friendly than he cant play for the Netherlands).
            According to http://www.soccertimes.com/wagman/2001/apr30.htm
            1. Any player who is a naturalized citizen of a country in virtue of that country’s laws shall be eligible to play for a national or representative team of that country.

            2. If a player has been included in a national or representative team of a country for which he is eligible to play pursuant to paragraph 1, he shall not be permitted to take part in an international match for another country. Accordingly, any player who is qualified to play for more than one national association (i.e. who has dual nationality) will be deemed to have committed himself to one association only when he plays his first international match in an official competition (at any level) for that association.

            3. The only players exempt from this provision are those whose nationality has been changed not voluntarily but as the result of an international decree either granting independence to a region or ceding part of one country to another.

Friendly matches do not constitute "official competitions," but, at times, various confederations use different and changing standards for qualification of teams to regional youth championships.
So i dont know if this means Ozbiliz will join Armenia or if he just wants to see how the team is.

no clue. My guess would be he had an Azeri father, Armenian mother. During the war they left Azerbaijan and went to Holland to escape the Armenian pogroms in Baku. That is just my guess, i could be completely wrong.
