Pretty cool first impressions of a Irishman in Yerevan.
Neil Horgan of Abbey Travel takes us on a whistle-stop tour of Yerevan, Armenia in advance of Ireland's first away game in the Euro 2012 campaign on 3rd Sept.

Some of the clubs in Armenia faced off today against other european clubs. Banants lost and Uliss tied. I just didnt have the time to watch the games but i heard Uliss played well and Banants sucked.

        Re: Armenian Soccer

I found a live stream of the Pyunik vs Partizan game today and enjoyed a rare opportunity to watch Armenias team in action. Well i enjoyed the first half atleast. Pyunik was very competative and at times even looked like the better team, hell they even scored a away goal. Unfortunately the second half was the same old crap. It seems that while the team had improved its offence, the improvement came at the expense of the defence. I did not watch the bitter end but i think it ended 3-1. I hope they win at home.

Yura Movsissian joined Armenias NT. He gave a nice statment which he said I could have waited 2 year and played for the US but I want to play for Armenia and make them stronger.. This kid is a real Armenian not like the countless chestpunding selfproclaimed hairenasers who wouldnt go to Hayastan because there were no five star hotels.

Watched our youngsters nt play Georgia today. We lost 2-3. Our side had by far the most scoring chances but.... Our defence is not good. Armenia plays Iran later today in a friendly.

I couldnt watch the NT friendly game vs Iran but it sounds like we played well but lost. I wonder if we will ever get a real coach?

Typical Irishman, bhy far his biggest concern being the price of the local beer.

As for the girl in the club!

I like how he said that Ararat is the highest mountain in Armenia. I'm sure that must have upset a few people from over the border!
