What happened with him was a few years ago when Armenia was doing bad they invited him to come and play for us. He rejected saying he wants to play for Russia. Now after Armenia improved and he never received the call from Russia he apologized and stated he wants to play for Armenia. The whole thing about him not being Armenian i dont quite understand. They say he is adopted or his father was adopted by an Armenian, something like that.

Joaquin is not going to start as long as Forlan, Suarez and Cavani are playing. He won't be benefiting anyone if he stays in Uruguay.

I havent seen him play so i cant say. We have good youth defenders so i would say no, especially after he rejected the call up when we needed him most.

Last i heard Joaquin was strugling in Austria. I hope he has improved since but his unwillingness to join our nt i did not like. I cant wait to see the OB one in action though.

The one thing to remember about diaspora Armenian players is that many of them do not speak Armenian and also play/reside in nations with
established soccer programs with great success one example being Joaquin Boghossian in Uruguay. Its hard to pass up playing for Uruguay, Holland,
Russia, etc if you have a chance to make the squad and this is the country where you grew up. That being said, I don't think we can shrug off players who find that there only shot to playing for a national side is to play for Armenia. They are using Armenia but Armenia is benefitting from them in terms of experience, notoriety, skill level, development, etc that they can
bring to Armenia. They are helping build a national program that can be relied upon in the future. Armenia's success is only very recent and still precarious. These men are taking a risk and should not be shunned.

In fact, Armenia should invite Yuri Djorkaeff and Alain Boghossian as soccer ambassadors or in some coaching capacity for the Armenian side if at all possible. One thing is certain, Armenia/Armenians have the players in Armenia and worldwide to be a great soccer nation. I used to have my doubts but now I know its true. Too bad Andranik Teymourian cannot play for Armenia.
