    EURO 2016 DRAW

    Armenia lands in GROUP I:
Portugal, Denmark, Serbia, Armenia, Albania (France as host is the 6th team as part of a new rule, but their games will count as friendlies, and they won't be ranked in the group).

Armenia drawn into what is probably the group of death

POT ONE 6th team (out of 9)
    POT TWO 4th team
    POT THREE 1st team
    POT FIVE 3rd team

only solace is that the pot 1 team is not untouchable, and that there's a realistic chance to get points out of portugal. Also Armenia decimated Denmark on their turf, and played an even match with them at home despite missing most of its best players. But Serbia just kills us. Out of the many POT3 teams that we were better than, i.e Turkey, we got a team clearly better than us. Another plus is no POT6 to f*ck up against.

Nope. Word was supposed to come Monday according to an earlier semi-official deadline, but that passed with no news. For a few days there was a lot of news about Segio Markarian, but that has cooled down now. We should hear something soon though

Artur Petrosyan, a usually reliable source confirms this. https://twitter.com/arturpetrosyan/s...33453787754496

Bernard Challandes is our new coach..El Rubo cheaps out again. This guy seems to coach in one place for about a year then he gets fired-key to happiness is low expectations.

It wouldn't have been as disappointing if they hadn't prolonged the process so much, or if Sergio Markarian wasn't out there, or if it hadn't been reported in December that the reputable Uruguayan had been hired. Comparing him to some of the coaches of teams comparable to us like Slovenia and Scotland, he isn't horrible. Not a guy we'd been dreaming of, but I would think a step above Minasyan. He has won the Swiss league once, and he led the Swiss U-21 to the UEFA semis in 2002. The one positive also is that he has experience developing Youth team and Armenia's youth teams are in dire need of that. However, he has zero senior experience, and also he doesn't speak English or Russian, so I don't know how he's gonna communicate with the players.

Yeh Mher he sounds like a good coach for my son's soccer team but coaching seniors is totally different because you are dealing with pros. The truth is this guy has never had this kind of experience so this will be a learning experience for him especially with the language barrier. At this point i was under the impression that we have a competitive team and getting a experienced coach was the missing link to gell it together and get us into the elite tournaments-guess not..

haha I'm trying to make myself feel better, don't spoil that with the truth. There was so much potential if they could have landed a great coach. With the talent available in the Diaspora, with the need to develop the current talent, you could have had such an impressive team with the right coach
