Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!


2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

    This is one of my favorite Olympic sports and i am glad it is back in the Olympics now. I really did not understand why they got rid of it that one year to begin with. Armenia has had some history in this sport and some success and it will be interesting to see if we can rebuild it. Recent competition results are not promising but things change..

    Iran Beats Armenia, Turkey, US in Wrestling World Cup

    TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's National Freestyle Wrestling Team beat Armenia,
    Turkey and the US wrestlers in the World Cup 2014 in the US city of
    Los Angeles.

    The 2014 Freestyle Wrestling World Cup was inaugurated on Saturday.

    Iran's team beat their Armenian rivals in all 8 categories in the
    first day of the championships.

    In their second competition Iran won Turkey 7-1 in the early hours of
    this morning.

    In the third round of the competitions a few hours ago, Iranian
    wrestlers also won powerfully the game 5-3 against the American team.

    India is the last team to fight with Iran. If Iran beats India, it
    will be one of the two teams in the final game.

    10 countries in two groups are participating in the paramount tournament.

    Iran, US, Armenia, Turkey, and India are in group 1; Russia, Ukraine,
    Mongolia, Georgia, and Japan are in group 2.

    The final match is scheduled to be held later today.

      Someone else on the xtratime Armenian soccer forum posed the question as to why Armenia lost this badly, and the answer was that Armenia is much better at Greco-Roman styple, than freestyle which is our weakness. Also Iran actually ended up beating Russia 4-2 after destroying everyone along the way to win the World Cup, so our defeat doesn't look at least somewhat explainable in retrospect.

      It's definitely good that the sport is back in the Olympics. There are literally dozens of sports in the olympics that I along with most people on this earth have never watched or even heard of in some cases. It made absolutely no sense that they chose one of the most iconic sports of the olympics to take out.

        That is my impression as well. Armenia seems to be successful in Greco-Roman. I would like to see Armenia put more emphasis and resources on other sports such as boxing, karate, weightlifting, freestyle wrestling. These are sports in which Armenia can excel.

              the next Olympics can't arrive fast enough for him, he already has a bronze from 2012

                  Armenian wrestler Valodya Frangoulian in a bout during the European
                  Championship in Poland

                  WALBRZYCH, Poland--Armenian wrestler Valodya Frangoulian was crowned
                  champion on Wednesday at the European Under-23 Wrestling Championship,
                  which was hosted in Walbrzych, Poland. The wrestler beat out opponents
                  from Belarus, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Ukraine in the 61 kg weight
                  category.

                  Frangoulian beat Azerbaijan's Ahmed'nabi Gvarzadilov with a sweeping
                  score of 6:0. Frangoulian then beat Turkey's Rejep Topali in the
                  semifinals by a score of 9:7. He beat Ukraine's Andrey Svirid in the
                  final match with a score of 8:3.

                  In the competition's 70 kg category, Armenia's Ishkhan Poghosian lost
                  to Russia's Rassul Arsanliev in the semi-final match and will fight
                  Belarus's Aleksandr Karpach for bronze.

                  In the 86 kg category, Armenia's Vahe Tamrazian lost his quarter-final
                  match to Russia's Shamil Goudiamagomedov.

                    Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Arsen Julfalakyan won a gold medal at
                    the "Dan Kolov and Nikola Petov" annual international championship
                    held in Sofia, Bulgaria.

                    2014 world champion Julfalakyan beat Ivan Georgiev of Bulgaria 2:0
                    in the final. Another Armenian wrestler Karapet Chalyan won a bronze
                    medal in the same 75 kg weight category.

                    Arsen Julfalakyan wore a T-shirt commemorating the Armenian Genocide
                    centennial at the award ceremony. He posted the photos on Facebook
                    and said he dedicates the victory to the 1.5 million victims.
