I just read a cool article on Djorkaeff in "90:00". The mag has his pic on the cover. I didn't expect that he would mention his Armenianness, considering they were talking about clubs and his WC championship, but here's what the paragraph says:
His grandparents fled the terrible Armenian genocide commited by the turks in 1915, eventually settling in France. "I tried to do a lot for the Armenian people. I am very proud to be Armenian and I am very proud of what that country is becoming. " There were several disappointed members of Los Angeles's significant Armenian population in attendance when Djorkaeff had to pull out of the Metrostars trip to the Home Depot Center earlier in the season due to injury -- proof of his everlasting popularity within and loyalty from his ethnicity.
