1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

England's Yafai slips to defeat to Armenian Avagyan in thrilling contest

Thursday, 17 October 2013 By Paul Osborne

October 17 - Two of the sport's most popular competitors came together
on the fourth day of the World Boxing Championships in Almaty when
former British Lionhearts team member Gamal Yafai took on AIBA
Professional Boxer (APB) Aram Avagyan in the bantamweight division.

The two did not disappoint in their opening fight of the competition,
displaying some truly extraordinary boxing in what would come to be
one of the best bouts of the tournament so far.

The technique and class on show was of a different level and it was
almost impossible to call come the final bell.

It was the Armenian who was eventually awarded the win with each judge
scoring the fight 29:28 in his favour.

But Yafai can leave the competition with his head held high after that
performance with Avagyan looking like a serious contender for the
          title.

One man looking to stop the Armenian will be Turkey's Selcuk Eker, who
beat American Eduardo Castellon in his first bout of the
          Championships.

The fight got off to a relatively quiet start with each getting the
          feel of their opponent.

Eker notched it up a gear in the second however, throwing a barrage of
punches at Castellon in an effort to gain the upper hand.

This onslaught continued throughout much of the second round with
Castellon getting caught badly on a number of occasions.

As the second round neared its conclusion it looked as though the Turk
had punched himself out as he started to slow and lose much of his
          momentum.

He managed to hold it together in the third however and despite a
frantic final round he sealed the win with a 3:0 decision from the
          judges.

              Re: Boxing

Arthur Abraham takes back the WBO World Championships

Today Arthur defeated Stieglitz in a split decision in their third match up to retake the WBO Super Middleweight world title. He had previously lost it to Stieglitz in their second bout a year. I watched the entire fight and Arthur was in surprisingly impressive form and had the upper hand most of the fight. Most of the rounds started out with Stieglitz starting strong, and then Arthur just taking over the round. In the last round, with about 30 seconds left, Stieglitz was knocked down, and was somehow given 17 seconds to get back on feet, which left the broadcasters crying out. So Arthur should have received the knockout win. And I don't know what one of the judges was on, giving Stieglitz a 113-112 victory, seeing how the other two judges gave it to Arthur 115-110 and 114-111, not to mention the fight wasn't that close at all to say it could have gone the other way.

It is great to see Arthur get back to the top, specially after his struggles for a couple of years. Not long ago he was considered one of the best pound for pound fighters in the entire world. Then in 2011, a horrible ruling against him vs. Andre Dirrell that ended a match due to disqualification gave him the first loss of his career and started a downward spiral of 3 straight losses. Good to see him get back to the top at the end of his career. He is already set to make a title defense on May 31st.

I specially like him, because he is a true patriot worthy of the praise. I don't always like it when the youth take Armenian athlete like Heno and Yura to be national heroes. The national heroes are the 18 year old kids on the front lines, not someone playing a child's game. But Arthur makes a great emphasis to do all he can for his homeland. Despite the fact that he and his family had moved to Germany in 1995, he and he's brothers returned in 1999 to serve in the military. Also he was engaged to an Armenian living in Armenia and recently got married in Armenia. Finally he has made significant donations to Armenia, most recently 100,000 Euros to a boxing school, and plans to open his own boxing school upon retirement.

                Re: Boxing

King Arthur was at the top for a while but to be honest i think he did not have good coaching. He was always in great shape for his fights but he was woefully one dimensional with no ability to adapt at all and it is this inability to adapt that led to his losses. I did not see the last fight but i do hope that this victory means he has adapted and changed hi style to suite the fight.

Re: Boxing British super-middleweight James DeGale stopped Gevorg Khatchikian in Bristol

Not my sport at all but :

"James DeGale is still on course for a world title bid after stopping Gevorg Khatchikian in the 11th round at the City Academy in Bristol.

The 28-year-old Londoner was given a good test by his gutsy Dutch opponent but floored him twice in the penultimate round as he successful defended his WBC silver super-middleweight belt.

DeGale was bleeding from a cut above his left eye from the second round onwards but looked the superior fighter nonetheless, troubling his opponent with his combination punches.

The 2008 Olympic gold medal-winner found himself on the ropes in round six but quickly recovered and had the previously undefeated Khatchikian in trouble in the eighth and ninth.

And Khatchikian, who was born in Armenia, slumped to the canvas in the 11th when a he took a fierce body shot from DeGale.

Khatchikian was soon on his feet but was then felled by a similar blow and, although he again got up quickly, the referee had seen enough.

DeGale told Channel Five: "I knew I was wearing him down.

"I knew the first couple of rounds would be difficult. He wanted to fight, but I broke him down. The better the opponent, the better I box.

"I could see at the press conference that he really wanted it. I've done 11 rounds and ended up stopping him, I'm pleased.

"It's about moving on now and just getting that world title. That's what it's all about."
