I am a gold metal winner in the linguistic olympics. Other than that I tend towards 'sports' where I compete against myself.
Mind games. Bellydance. Yoga. Latin dance. Biking. Twisting logic like clay. Pretending I am a person who holds a view that is 'polar opposite' to mine. Basketball (by myself, or playing 'horse' or the like.)
The only 'formal sports' I've ever done were back in school (basketball, cheerleading, track.) I prefer my way, now. Sometimes I have a hard time being a team player. I like being an individual, in cooperation.
I play soccer whenever I can. I also play soccer sometimes. Other than that, I just play soccer. Just kidding...I do play soccer, but I rather watch the guys playing. I also play Volleyball and I just discovered Snowboarding.

I played on the volleyball team, in school. (We didn't have soccer then and there, or I'm sure I would have played. I play now, but with a 5 yr old.) I shot hoops the other day and thought about surfing during that...
I just started snowboarding, too (well I had an injury disruption, but I hope to go again.) Have you ever been surfing? I think that's my favorite sport of all.
I can't swim...or better, I don't know how to and don't wish to learn...it's just not my thing...the water just doesn't like me. Last spring I embarrassed myself at the local YMCA...I signed up for swimming lessons and all I did was go to the class, sit and watch...the poor instructor tried very hard to get me into the water with no luck...never again...

I predict that you (JenMinassian) will not only be swimming in less than 2 years, but maybe competing in swimming. You've got that drive... I see that.
