I understand your point, but I don't see them as mutually exclusive. To me, you are saying something like: You wouldn't say you'd prefer seeing a child's drawing to a Picasso (one would hope.)
Picasso could paint in amazing realism at age 12. It took him (he said) much longer to learn to paint like a child.
I understand your point too, but you made my deeper point, there. Small kids play for the sake of playing the game and not 'to beat' someone else. I like games more than the competition. I doubt you could 'beat' small kids at a 'who can be the least competitive, contest.'
