Login.........Logout

Why is it if I login and then not use the website(this one) for five minutes, I get logged off. For example, I was typing a somewhat long reply and when I pressed, "Preview Post" it showed that page where I have to log in. I tried going back to the previous page to copy what I typed, but it said, "Expired Page" so that whole reply was not saved or anything. Why does this site log off members so quick? It was only five minutes.

I almost always clear them. It just always does that. The site logges you off too quick and on the site is shows you being online, but you still have to log in.......again hmmmm

If you have all of the cookie options set to "yes" you shouldn't have this problem. Go to you Edit Options section and look at the top to make sure that the cookie related radio buttons are on "yes".

Another question - have you tried clearing your temporary internet files?

I had a similar problem with another forum a while back - what happened was that I used to log in and it would say I was logged in, and when it went to the forum index, it used to show me as not logged in. I had to clear the temp internet files, and it fixed it..

Ok, the problem was sort of fixed........or at least so far it is. I just hope it doesn't start again.
