Is there any credence to the notion that Armenians are descended of Phrygians? I have heard that the Greek writers considered them descendants of the Phrygians and that the older forms of the Armenian language are closest, grammatically, to Greek (of all the Indo-European languages).

Re: Phrygians?
From the excerpt of Phrygian I read from "In Search of the Indo-Europeans" by J.P. Mallory, it doesn't resemble Old Armenian or old Greek languages well enough to tie them together as part of the same branch.
Phrygian is speculated to be part of an extinct branch, called Thraco-Phrygian, that is distinct from Greek. In the same book, it is mentioned that modern day Albanian might hold some residual lexicon from this branch, but other than that, there is not much to say about Phrygians. The quantity of Phrygian inscriptions discovered are also very limited because they were mostly found in tombs, rather than on government or commercial documents.

Re: Phrygians?
that's odd, Noah's sons were only forefathers of Africans, Semites and Europeans/"Japhetics", respectively. Maybe he had a fourth son we don't know about who was the forefather of Central Asians. Maybe you would know his name?
