It is basically a hymn asking blessings from the Catholico's and the same time it is a prayer in a form of a petition asking God's protection over the Church and the Catholico's.

Thanks! Apparently it was composed by Komitas Vardapet. I looked up his biography. The piece has obvious Western influences (Vardapet studied in Berlin), but the melody has an Armenian idiom.
