That would work if they weren't such c*nts about it. Thus a system was set up where certain days one church would have it other days another. This isn't the first time nor will it be the last, that the greek church tries to involve themselves in non-greek days.

Okay, to everyone in this thread, and specifically TresBien, please watch your language. This is a general warning, not aimed just atTresBien, although her obvious distaste for Hayastansis is evident and makes her more important in terms of this warning. Either curb your express dislike of Hayastansis, or don't post if you feel the urge to dislike Hayastansis (myself being one), or face the consequences if you continue to do so.

This is an Armenian forum and this sort of stupid bickering won't be tolerated.

In most respects when people generalize they don't look good. It's not an educated, savvy and an intelligent person's action. I believe that we must all try to stay away from generalizations. European Armenian, Iranian Armenian, Lebanese Armenian, Israeli Armenian, Indian Armenian or Hayastanci; after all we are all Armenians. Yes because of our unfortunate past and the lack of owning and having our own country for a century made Armenians all over the world to be a bit "aylaserads" and have diverted to some extent from the true way of living of our anscestors as we were scattered all over the globe; but now finally we have a country and we should all try to tolerate each other and our differences for the sake of the big picture. And the big picture is our sustained identity, our culture and our Armenianess, and of course loving and supporting our homeland.

I suggest you visit a Greek monastery or a church to see the kind of garbage they are. For the most part, Greek clergy are more anti-Armenian than Turks. And thank God for the "uncivilized" Hayastantsis because the Armenian pansies that enter the priesthood in Turkey or Syria would shit their underpants at the first sight of a fight...

I once knew a Hayastantsi deacon who was a wrestler in Armenia before he joined the Church and went to Jerusalem to study. He told me that in Jerusalem Greeks and Orthodox Jews constantly insult and attack Armenians. He also told me that the senior priests in Jerusalem would always make him and his Hayastantsi friends stand in front of religious processions just in case trouble occurred. During an outdoor procession once, a young Orthodox Jew spit on the Armenians, the Hayastantsi wrestler turned deacon knocked out the Jew with one punch to the face...

The Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III blamed
Armenian clerics Monday for weekend violence between Greek and Armenian
Orthodox faithful in Jerusalem's Holy Sepulchre church.

"The Armenians are constantly provoking us. They claim additional
rights and seek to equate their privileges to ours which date back
centuries," Theophilos told Greek state television NET.

"They are causing trouble in Bethlehem and Gethsemane," the garden
at the foot of the Mount of Olives where Jesus Christ prayed with
his disciples before his crucifixion, he added.

Israeli police were called in Sunday as the free-for-all left several
people with black eyes, bruises and bloody cuts.

A number of the faithful hit out with religious artifacts as priests
tried to tear each others' robes off in the brawl.

Custody of the Holy Sepulchre is shared by Greeks, Armenians and
Roman Catholics, all of whom jealously guard their responsibilities
under a fragile network of agreements hammered out over the centuries.

Rivalries between the various denominations is such that the keys
to the church have been entrusted for centuries to two Palestinian
Muslim families.

The church is built on the site most Christians revere as the place
where Jesus Christ was crucified, and also where he was buried and
rose again.

Theophilos added that since his election in 2005 he has sought to
improve relations with all the Christian denominations which share
use of the Holy Lands' pilgrimage sites, but the Armenians "remain
obdurate".

Theophilos was elected to the throne after his predecessor Irineos I
was ousted over an alleged multi-million-dollar sale of church land
to xxxish investors.
