    My opinion:
If I were the government, I'd rather Diasporans work abroad and send money home than to come in and compete for jobs, raising the unemployment level. They probably ask people what they plan on doing when they come in. If it's to buy a house and spend the days shopping, they'll be let in pretty fast I imagine.
If for instance I chose to repatriate to Armenia, I would; 1. Bring with me lots and lots of money, 2. Buy a small house and open up my own business, and 3. In the interim see to it that the orphans are well fed, their buildings' windows are all put up, their rooms are well heated and they are very well taken care of.

You have kids, too, right Anoush? How would they feel about repatriating to a new country?

I like you're ideas though and it sounds very similar to something I'd like to do. The only thing I worry about is being able to take care of my mother when I get older; I wouldn't want her to be in America by herself.

Ayo I have a 14 year old girl. She loves to visit Armenia; but about repatriating I didn't talk to her about it so far. At the moment I don't think she would be willing as she has a BFF in here; but if I would be really set in my ways I would have to talk her into it. But I think it's important for her to visit Armenia and see it with her own eyes and not just a word or a name on the map. When she visits and sees a whole country thriving with other teenagers and real people, who knows she may fall in love with it.

That's sweet of you Yerazhishd jan, you're a good son and I agree with your concern. You could take her with you if she is willing; otherwise, you could visit her until she gets really old and weary then move her to Armenia. It's a thought.

No Armenian would. As every Armenian knows we all love our mothers. That's exactly why you take her with you to Armenia. If she's too old then if you have a brother/sister/cousin you ask them to babysit her while you go to Armenia. Unfortunately, some of us can't leave without our mom's such as myself

I must add that Armenians do love and cherish their mothers. And even macho Armenian men they all love their mothers before or after death until they themselves die. And one more thing I must add that we Armenians take very good care of our elderly parents when they are weary and old till they die. We babysit them and give up much of our free time to take care of them; just like they themselves took good care of us. Not like odars. A good many Americans are not like us; they put their elderly in old homes whereas most of the time they are not taken care of properly and usually they are abused. Not Armenians though, we don't like to put them in old homes; we prefer to take good care of our parents ourselves when the time comes when they need us. Armenians are good family people; men or women. I am proud of my heritage and my Armenianness.

Ya, I see that a lot in Americans. That's probably why when they are on aim and stuff they say "oh my moms xxxxxing at me." Stuff like that pisses me off.

I'm not always nice to my mom. I have this dream in my head of taking both my parents in to live in the same house even though they're divorced, hahaha. Suckers.
