A 'government' that imprisons its own patriots and war veterans (like Jirayr Sefilian and many others) cannot last for too long. Their "guilt" being that they have repeatedly pointed out that surrendering Armenian land to either Turks or Azeris would result in a huge security bridge which would jeopardize the very existence of Armenia (including Artsakh).
Only a repressive regime that does not enjoy the backing of the people truly feels the need to resort to measures of arresting people and depriving them of their basic rights to freedom of speech. I hate the situation that we have now, but as I said, we as a people do not deserve to be "led" by such people that treat Armenians in their own homeland this way.
Today it is Avetis, tomorrow it can be anyone of us who stands up for Armenian rights.
