Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!


2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum.     Approval of Tatev’s restoration project postponed

    On July 29, the Armenian Government was to approve the development program of Tatev Monastery. However, the issue was removed from the agenda at the suggestion of Deputy Economy Minister Karine Minasyan. The decision was reasoned by “necessity to make certain amendments”.

    However, other developments might have played crucial role. The restoration project of Tatev Monastery was in fact launched thanks to $20m donation by Ruben and Veronica Vardanyan, well-off Armenians residing in Moscow. The project provided for restoration of Tatev Monastery complex, construction of the world longest Halidzor-Tatev ropeway, as well as creation of tourism infrastructure.

    Armenian society ambiguously admitted another project funded by Ruben Vardanyan, construction of English-language school in Dilijan. In his letter addressed to the Public Council, Vardanyan informed of his refusal to construct a school, expressing discontent with the nature of public discussions. It is not ruled out that Vardanyan will also reject the investments in Tatev. In this case, the Government will have to seek for other donors. This might be the reason why the approval of the program was postponed.

    I still think the projects will move on, but this again shows the sickness of some parts of the Armenian society (where negativism and destructive morale plays a huge role, see also Levon Ter-Petrosyans statement about Artsakh) who ruin it for the rest of the Armenians who want their country to progress and prosper. This group of Armenians are always critical about everyone, even if respectable Armenians like Ruben Vardanian ingage in these kind of philanthropic projects they will make the worst allegations possible, instead of supporting, helping and respecting Armenians who dream of a better Armenia.

    This is a great danger to our society and a lot has to be done to change the sick part of the destructive and negative part of the society, unfortunately, they, without knowing it, have a great influence on the progress of the Armenian republic.

    If the Diljian International school was not enough (which has been canceled), because all the slanders which was made against Ruben Vardanian and other Armenians who care for their country, the Tatev Project has come into trouble and other investers have been scared off which would probably have invested in Armenia.

      Construction works of ropeway leading to Tatev monastery are at final stage

      PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of construction works of the ropeway and infrastructures Artashes Ghazakhetsyan said that the construction works of the ropeway leading to Tatev monastery are at the final stage.

      Swiss experts have already installed the equipment. Now they implement wiring works, Ghazakhetsyan told journalists.

      “The works will be completed until September, after which we will launch the test stage, so that the ropeway is put into commission until October 16. A special commission will be invited from Europe to test the ropeway's safety. It will provide its conclusion on the ropeway's compliance with international standards,” said Ghazakhetsyan.

      A PanArmenian.Net correspondent reported from Tatev that the ropeway is 5.7km-long, with highest point at 330m. Its cable cars will be able to cover the distance to Tatev monastery complex during 11 minutes and 25 seconds. It will be the longest bidirectional ropeway in the world.
