Mining. Such is the scale of open development of the Shaumyan gold mine
field.

Incidentally, though this project of Deno Gold Mining has not been yet
endorsed by Armenian Energy and Natural Resources Ministry, the
company is already going to start mass cutting of trees.

'We are ready to present the relevant facts in the near future', -
representative of the Kapan non-governmental organization "To provide
ecological security and democracy development, Artur Gazaryan, said.

'Those, who have been working at the mine field are sick of silicosis
We are scared that "thanks" to open development of the mine field
residents of the nearby villages will also inhale the toxical dust', -
he said and added that 1000 workers of Deno Gold Mining may also come
across social problem, as the open development of the mine field may
last only for 6 year and the workers will lose job.

For her part, the head of 'EcoLur' Inga Zarafyan said that the
ecological situation in Kapan is very bad and added that research was
held three years ago and showed high concentration of heavy metals in
ground and water. Experts say that using of agriculture products from
these territories may be risky for health.

'If we had such a situation in 2007, the situation may sharply worsen
after open development of the Shaumyan mine field', - she said.

I wonder, are those "24 more young people" refusing military service a greater number than the young people who are removed from military service in a more direct way, by being either murdered by their officers or driven to suicide by bullying? And which does Amaryan think is more damaging to Armenia's military capabilities and reputation?

24 more young people refused the alternative military service, all of
them simultaneously, stated Alexander Amaryan, the head of the center
for aid and rehabilitation to the victims of destructive cults.

As the expert noted at a news conference in Yerevan, Jehovah's
Witnesses do not recognize the statehood, leading the state to
complete downfall.

Psychologist Karine Nalchajyan, in turn, characterized the sectarians'
actions as a stab in the back of the state. `They keep speaking about
humanism, while refusing a work that could actually help people,' she
stressed.

The Law on Alternative Service effective since 2004 provides
conditions for alternative service for members of religious
organizations. Article 2 of the law stipulates: `Alternative service
is a special state service delivered by the citizen of the Republic of
Armenia not related to carrying, keeping, maintaining and using
weapon.'

The law envisages 36 months' alternative unarmed military service or
42 months' alternative civilian community service.

After the law came into force, 22 Jehovah's Witnesses chose the latter
option and were assigned to special civilian hospitals, including
Armenia's largest psychiatric clinic. But they soon discovered that
these facilities are essentially under military control, regularly
checked on by military police officers, confined to the medical
institutions for 24 hours a day and even fed by the army. 15
sectarians were sentenced for 2-3 years in prison on charges of
desertion, and were set free after serving 7 months' prison term.

Bell in this you are right i neither like emo's but dont think we dont have aryan organizations or people that into that stuff every country has them,members of it are usually people with low understanding.

I'd rather see emos crowding the sidewalks of Yerevan that leather-clad skinhead thugs filling the roads with their black off-roaders. But we know which lot Amarian will favour.
