Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!


2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

    Epress.am -- In the Russian city of Yaroslavl, the second imam of the
    local mosque, Artur Manukyan, 29, was found dead with four gunshot
    wounds to his chest in his home on Nov. 9. A criminal case has been
    launched under charges of murder.

    As reported by Interfax news agency, investigators don't rule out the
    possibility that the murder was committed on ethnic grounds and that
    someone was hired to kill him.

    Manukyan was appointed to the position of second imam in 2010. He
    received his religious education at the Ulugh Beg Madrasa in Bukhara,
    Uzbekistan. Manukyan's father is Armenia, but his mother is Tatar.

    Note, this is the third murder of a Muslim cleric in the last two
    months in central Russia. On the night of Sept. 18, also murdered in
    his home was Abakar Kadi Magomedov, a member of the Muslim community
    of Yaroslavl's central mosque. Then on Sept. 24, acting imam of the
    Ivanovski mosque Fouad Rustamhodzhaev was shot just outside his home
    as he was returning from the mosque.

      Is his “job” incidental.

      Would it have been “ok” if he was a mechanic or something?
      Would you have treated him as an Armenian then?

      Indeed was he an Armenian at all except by name?

      Was a "victim" of living in the diaspora?

          His father is at fault if he raised him as a Muslim. Though, even with that, this person should have converted back to Christianity given he identified himself as Armenian. It seems as he did since he kept his names.

          Armenians converting to Islam is basically fulfilling the Genocidal wishes of the Turks. You cannot call yourself a Muslim and Armenian at the same time. It doesn't work.

            His father's fault was marrying "odar".
            Everything starts from that.

            To me there is no difference whether Muslim or Christian odar.
            Its only aesthetics in the mind.

            Its like saying its better to be run over and killed by a Rolls-Royce than a 20 year old Lada.

            Both options lead to the same result.

              There are many muslim armenians who are interested in connecting with the rest of us but thanks to people like u they stay in a nomans land caught between those who enslave them and those who reject them.

                    No basis, No substance, No meaning.

                    A few facts of life to tear you statement apart.

                    No Armenian (including me !! ) is a door keeper to any Armenian connecting with his roots..

                    Nobody stops them learning Armenian language, finding out about Armenian History, enjoying Armenian culture or cuisine for that matter.
                    Also consider the Armenian religion as part of Armenian identity.

                    There is no test an Armenian has to go through to be decided he/she is an Armenian.
                    Its a personal thing that one feels, a spiritual link if you prefer.

                    Sadly the reality is just the opposite.

                    Youngsters who come from otherwise strong Armenian families get attracted to Odar language mannerism,
                    communicate with each other in the language of the host country,
                    find Odar culture more attractive and worse of all find odar partners more desirable and
                    ultimately odar spouse to build semi Armenian family where the off springs are under unnecessary identity pressure as well as a choice,
                    usually the host countries identity wins in the long term.

                    Unless you meant some thing else your statement is absolute bull.
