Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Re: Armenian muslim cleric in russia murdered

This individual seems to be referred to as a traitor.
    Respectfully I disagree.

He is the result of treachery which puts him in a category which I am unable to characterise.

If you read carefully the news report these are the facts.

His father married a Muslim woman.
    He attended a Madrassa.
He must have done this either with the approval or indifference of his father.
Considering the study age of a youngster attending a Madrassa is between the ages of 4-16 he would hardly have had a say in his upbringing.
If anything he must have been a dedicated smart kid as a youngster, even ambitious, characteristics Armenians relish.
Very sadly he was put in front of the wrong tree of life to climb.

Who's decision was that? hardly his.

The symptom makes me equally full of anger, shame and a loss (as an Armenian) of this “Armenian” individual’s route in his short life.

But look at the root cause.
Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

Well his father must have converted to Islam in order to have married to Muslim woman. There isn't any other way.

Re: Armenian muslim cleric in russia murdered

Whilst it's possible it's unlikely that Manukyan was killed by his Tatar brothers on ethnic grounds. Since Manukyan isn't the only Muslim cleric to be deposed recently in Tatarstan and the Wahhabis are clearly intent upon making inroads in Russia. As so-called "moderate Islam" is on it's way out and the Sunni death cultists are on the march.

The insurgency in Russia's North Caucasus - which is comprised of the regions of Chechnya, Ingushetia, Dagestan, Karachayevo-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria - claims to follow this fundamentalist form of Islam.

"The Salafis and Wahhabis constitute a very great danger. There are no moderates among them. They all finish one day by taking up arms," the newly elected mufti of Tatarstan, Ildus Faizov, said in an interview with AFP. He said he believes the "traditional Islam" of Tatarstan is threatened by these extremist forms, spread first by preachers who came in from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Egypt after the fall of the Soviet Union, and later by Tatars who have studied abroad.

"Many students who are trained in the Arab world come back heavily influenced by an ideology that is alien to our Islam," stressed Marat Gatin, an official in charge of relations with religious groups in the administration of the president of Tatarstan. Elected in April after the resignation of his predecessor, who was judged too lenient towards Islamists, mufti Faizov has mounted a crackdown on extremists among the Muslim clergy of this republic of four million inhabitants.

From now on, imams are no longer freely elected by parishioners but chosen from a list of candidates picked by the mufti, and numerous imams have already been dismissed. One of the first to be let go was Nail Sakhibzyanov, an imam from the Almetyevsk district, considered a bastion of radical Islam.

"On April 30, the FSB (security services), police and local administrators gathered the district imams at the town hall and forced them to publicly vote me out," he told AFP in the Rizaetdin Fakhretdin central mosque in Almetyevsk. "It was the FSB who sacked me, not the faithful."

Sakhibzyanov said he sees nothing wrong with associating with Wahhabis and other fundamentalist followers of Islam, whom he believes are mistakenly accused of being a threat. "We are all Muslims," he stressed.

You can't reason with these people. Which begs the question, when Tsarist Russia annihilated the cherkess people in 18th century, why didn't they take care of the rest of the scum in north caucus, why is that region allowed to be like this till this time? Stalin had the right idea about these people, Siberia. Declare North caucus a military zone except north/south ossetia of course, no one gets in, no one goes out. problem solved.

If he was sent to a madrassa at a tender age of 4 how is he ever going to know what an Armenian is.

Probably he would not even know the significance of his name and how he differs from the other kids.

And yet you complain about the Turks getting rid of the "scum" in the south side of the Caucasus? So you think genocide is fine and wonderful, except when it is being inflicted on you.

No I'm referring to your character assassination that you made. Any Armenian who converts to Islam is automatically a traitor. The murder is tragic, but that sentiment still stands.

What "character assasination"? You are a textbook "Superior Armenian", with your "Any Armenian who converts to Islam is automatically a traitor" attutude.

Mos's standard copypaste is "any Armenian who .............. is automatically a traitor". The dots can be filled in by whatever is his latest bugbear. "Any Armenian who isn't a member of the Armenian Church", "any Armenian who marries a non-Armenian", "any Armenian who listens to rock music", any Armenian who doesn't want to see every tree in Yerevan cut down", "any Armenian who has a 'liberal mind' (whatever that is?)" .... the list is endless, but mostly it comes down to "any Armenian who disagrees with Mos"!

The character assassination of portraying me as someone I'm not. The fact of any armenian who converts to Islam being a traitor is rather universally accepted, and this comes straight from the Genocide where the Armenians that converted to Islam assimilated into Turks, thus any Armenian who does so, is continuing that horrible practice. I'm sure a great majority of Armenians would agree with this fact.

I've never said an Armenian is traitor for the statements that you make further on, so please stop making things up. The issue of some liberal ideals infiltrating Armenian society has more to do with the changing of the times than someone being a traitor, but that's a discussion for the appropriate thread which I made.
