TRAITORS OF COUNTRY MUST BE IN PRISON: ROBERT SAHAKYANTS
YEREVAN, APRIL 13. ARMINFO. The Armenian opposition's revolutionary initiatives are aimed at overthrowing the authorities, and their slogans do not contain anything concerning the Karabakh and national problems, the well-known Armenian cartoon-maker Robert Sahakyants told ARMINFO, commenting on the dispersal of the opposition's rally in front of the presidential residence last night.
At last Armenia's authorities have begun establishing order in the country, dispersing instigators and their associates, who are not only disturbing public order, but are also damaging the country's reputation. Sahakyants pointed out that if he were President, he would have taken more drastic measures, holding responsible the "pseudo-oppositionists for treason felony - who will not accept anybody that was not born at the Markaryan Institute (the Yerevan Central Maternity Home)." The opposition's only goal is seizing presidential power, Sahakyants said. "Armenia lost thousands of young men in a liberation struggle for Nagorny Karabakh, and Azeris are waiting for an opportunity to outrage and bulldoze their tombs," Sahakyants said. "The instigators of a coup must be convicted for a treason felony," Sahakyants said. He stated his intention to express his negative attitude to the opposition in his cartoons, deriding "the leaders of Armenian opposition."
