Because the Bible in English does not say that; it says Ararat.

The word Ararat is Urartean in origin and lets not forget Urartu was there before Armenia.

Technically that is not considered fact. And it is also a theory that Armenians emerged from Urartean civilization.

The word Ararat comes from the word Urartu. And it is basically an accepted fact that we are descended from Urartians.

You can see something might be there if you look at Mt. Ararat in person. BUT, still not proof if the Arc! But do we really need it?

For some reason I remember reading somewhere that "Arah" was the name of the head god from our pagen days... and "hat" of course meaning "piece".. "Ararat" meaning "A Piece of God"......then again the guy who wrote that coulda just been whacko.

the Urarteans were one of the tribes in the land of Armenia. The name for the Ancient God is Ara also later called as Ara the Handsome. The word Ara comes from the ancient sun god Ar, the moderm Armenian term for sun is arev. The bible we know that mountain as Ararat. This is an Armenian term for the mountain.
