Re: Plane holding 100 crashes into the Black Sea

I don't know how this ended up on the internet, and ofcourse it could be fake, but if anyone could translate this I'd appreciate it:

Part of the conversation between the Armavia captain and Georgian ATC. Someone posted it on http://www.oneworld.am/blog/ and although I have no idea if it's genuine I do know Georgian officials were saying they have tapes of communications while the aircraft was in their airspace and that there is some interesting stuff on it.

This is really weird. How could something like this end up on the internet days after the crash. Then again, this is the former Soviet Union...

I know some of you speak Russian!

I can't hear the pilot very well over the static so I can't understand a word here and there. The pilot is saying "We're returning to Yerevan (there's a word there I can't understand (moshiot ?). The traffic controller asks "Right now or a bit later". Pilot replies (I think) "One hour, they told us (peredali) 2 hours (I'm thinking there's a delay of 2 hours at the aeroport) ... 150 by (na) 1500 (I'm guessing it's speed and altitude). Controller replies "Roger I copy ...".

the georgian authorities released segments of the conversation to their media 2 days or so after the crash.

150/1500 is the cailing/visibility. Ceiling is the overcast altitude

Thanks man. I was completely lost as to what those numbers meant. But if the pilot is saying that he's already on the way back to Armenia, it couldn't be the ill-fated flight, right? I actually hear "one hour" (odin chas), but considering I misheard "nazad" as something totally different I could be wrong.

Pilot doesn't say he is on his way back to Yerevan. He says, that he is turning back to Yerevan (they need the contrellers approval to execute 180grad turn and change the altitute for flying back)
Where do you heare "one hour"? I guess when he says "Shas..." (you canunderstand as "chas"-hour)... but that is "Da shas, pryamo shas"..i.e he need immidiate clearance for heading and altitude change (the planes cannot stay at the same altitude when they turn for 180 degrees, they need to clib by around 100 feet or descent by 1000 feet I guess.
