Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Kvas, do you know the people in those photographs? If you don't, then it's sort of creepy to post their pictures here.

Those people had posted their photos up on another Armenian forum. I simply got the link and put them here. I can see what you mean though but I was just trying to make a point.

The day Armenia become a multiracial country is the day I stop calling myself my family and when I have children Armenian.

No I don't think Armenia should "Armenize" non Armenians, especially those who are not white. Hey Europe is trying to "Europize" everybody coming to their country look how thats turning out. Multiracialism is wrong, and now Armenia is somewhat peaceful. When you have minorities you have crime because those minorities dont give a crap and live within their own neighborhoods. In Armenia if you rob somebody it can be very likely that this person is someone that knows someone you know.

Just because Armenians had different colour hair then others doesnt mean anything. Germans, Italians, French all dont look the same. Armenians are a mix race of Caucasian and Indo-European people. Lastly I have seen Armenized Yezdis and Kurds and Assyrians who look like Indians and frankly are as Armenian as the Indians who come to Armenia to learn medicine. I don't consider someone who does not look like an Armenian but an indian or Arab armenian since they are not.

Also all I know is this. All our heroes, all our brave you men that fought and died for "Armenia" did not do it for some piece of land or Ararat. They fought for the Armenian people not someone that just speaks the langauge.

I would not fight for some muticultural nation just like i will not fight for Canada now. I love Canada and was thinking of joining the Canadian military but what for? So I could fight and loose body parts or life for who? Asians? Indians? Arabs? Blacks? Hell no! I don't understand why white Canadians do it. Canadian military is like 95% white and they fight for Canada to only see others taking their land over.

Canada is a country where 1 in 5 are not even born here and where the demography is changing at an exceptional rate.

I know what it is to be a minority in Canada and I know what it is to see the majority whites in Canada become the minority with my own eyes where I live. The culture changes and the host countries culture is lost. Do you know how many Chinese new year, Chinese this Chinese that I have had to go through during my time in highschool? I know more about China and their culture then I do with the rest of Canada.

Also there is the fact of mixing races. The ethnic makeup changes and it creates a new ethnic group and I can see that happening with my very eyes also. look at the "colored" race in south africa and you will understand what I am talking about.

The only reason I call myself Armenian now is not because I speak Armenian (which overtime I am slowly forgeting) it is because I am ethnically and racially Armenian. I care very little of some piece of land and a flag. If Armenians sees being Armenians I would not hesitate in giving up my identity and would associate with the closest ethnic group to mine.

A final note, would you as an Armenian be ok with bringing in African blacks and Armenizing them knowing full well that over time Armenia will become a country of mix race people who look black?

Kavkaz, do you have plans to eventually resettle in Armenia?
For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

Yes I actually do and I plan on helping some big companies establish themselves there after I have established myself within my company. Then who knows? My family used to own a farm in Armenia and I still remember the summers I spent there. They were just so amazing almost as good as my time in Europe.

That's good to here man, I also plan on taking a similar course before and after moving to Armenia. Would you move to Yerevan or another city?

Thats really cool to hear. I know alot of Armenians are trying to live in their new homes and the thought of moving to Armenia is a distant one. But there are those who can come and benefit Armenia by creating new jobs in an industry that is not present currently in Armenia. Armenians are very smart people, and skilled IT work should be a very promising future for Armenia.

I am originally from Yerevan so I would probably move there first and see where that takes me. But I am hoping to do this in the next 5-7 years. But we will see you can never tell how the future is going to be.

                    Re: Immigration/Armeniafication

Armenians and their neighbors to a large extent have the same ancestors. What separates these groups is not their ancestry but their language and culture. If people from another nation settle in Armenia, then their children can be Armenian if they are part of the culture. Case in point, some Armenians in Armenia have Russian ancestors. National identity has little to do with one's ancestors. It has to do with factors such as language, territory, and economy. Yezidi Kurds in Armenia, for example, are more Armenian than many so-called diasporan Armenians living in the USA, France, and other western countries.
