Re: Armenia and the information war
New Azeri TV channel, new opportunities for misinformation
October 22, 2010 | 21:11
The National TV and Radio Council has announced the winner of the contest for a television frequency in Baku and Absheron peninsula.
The results were completely predictable: the Aztv Company, the only participant in the contest, “won” it.
The National Television of Azerbaijan will soon have a new channel, Culture. The “cultural values” will be disseminated by a company which showed Christian crosses on the bronze belts found during excavations and claimed it was “a proof their ancient Azerbaijani origin,” to say nothing of Aliev’s tales about Yerevan as “capital of western Azerbaijan” and other idiocies.
