What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

I must say Serzh is much more pro-West than Kocharian was, hopefully it will remain at a low key level...

Sarkisian Lauds U.S. Role In Region

Armenia - President Serzh Sarkisian meets with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Celeste Wallander, 28June2011.
    28.06.2011
President Serzh Sarkisian on Tuesday praised U.S. engagement with Armenia and the rest of the region and reiterated his government’s commitment to stepping up cooperation with NATO.

“We regard U.S. involvement in the region as a factor strengthening stability,” he told Celeste Wallander, the visiting U.S. deputy assistant secretary of defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia Policy.

“We are satisfied with progress in a number of areas of our bilateral relationship and certainly want to see greater progress in our bilateral economic ties,” he said.

Wallander was in Yerevan on a two-day visit that reflected growing U.S.-Armenian military cooperation. She met with Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian and Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on Monday.

According to Sarkisian’s office, Wallander described her meetings in the Armenian capital as “excellent.”

The talks also touched upon Armenia’s ties with NATO that have been developing under the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) launched in 2005. Sarkisian discussed them in greater detail on Tuesday at a separate meeting with James Appathurai, NATO’s new special representative to the South Caucasus and Central Asia.

A statement by the presidential press service, said Sarkisian stressed the importance of an “effective implementation” of the IPAP. He also said that Armenia and NATO will soon again revise the cooperation framework in a way that will raise their partnership to “a qualitatively new level.”

The existing version of the IPAP, which was publicized last year, reaffirms Yerevan’s intention to “draw closer” to the Western alliance and calls for a deeper reform of the Armenian army.

More on Diana Markosian being deported. C'mon you Azerbaboons, how can you deport a cute lady. She needs to get her ass to Armenia though, according to this article she has never been. Apsos...
      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      Bloomberg Photojournalist Deported from Baku

      Diana Markosian

YEREVAN, BAKU (Combined Sources)—Photojournalist Diana Markosian, who works for the Bloomberg News Agency was deported from Baku when she arrived there on assignment from Istanbul because she is Armenian.

“I’m very surprised over the incident. For three weeks, we’ve been negotiating with the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry requesting to allow me entrance to Baku. A person in charge asked for 10 days to settle the formalities. He further requested a number of documents including an official letter from Bloomberg, all which were provided,” Markosian told in telephone interview with the Azeri Turan news agency.

“Upon receiving a verbal confirmation allowing my arrival, I traveled to Baku airport, where I was refused entrance because of my Armenian origin, although I’ve never been to Armenia. The Foreign Ministry representative said he’s unable to help me. I would understand it, but why promise something you can’t deliver?” added Markosian.

“Markosian has dual US and Russian citizenship. She came to Baku with her Russian passport. Her documents are all in order,” Emin Huseynov, director of Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety

Elkhan Polukhov, head of the press office for the Azeri foreign ministry stated that Markosian did not have accreditation.

Polukhov said two weeks ago Bloomberg agency applied to the foreign ministry regarding the agency’s plans to do economic reporting from Azerbaijan. This request was approved.

“Two weeks ago the agency sent a letter of response informing that US-Russian citizen of Armenian descent Diana Markosian would accompany the correspondent as a photographer during the visit to Baku,” said Polukhov.

“Bloomberg management was informed that Azerbaijan is at war with Armenia; 20 percent of the Azerbaijani territory was being occupied by Armenia; and about one million Azerbaijani people turned into refugees and internally displaced persons. For this reason, there will be problems to provide security for Armenian Diana Markosian. We asked the agency to send another photographer instead of Markosian,” added Polukhov.

Photos taken by Markosian have been published in newspapers such as the New York Times, Boston Globe, Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post.

On April 18, Swedish journalists Charlie Laprevote, My Rohwedder Street and Charlotta Wijkstrom were detained and deported from Baku, having come there to film a documentary about freedom of expression in Azerbaijan.

PanARMENIAN.Net - A Facebook post of famous singer James Blunt triggered yet another online conflict between Armenians and Azerbaijanis. ““I'll Be Your Man” is Number 1 in Armenia....!!! Re-diverting the tour…,” the singer said in his post, which caused the outrage of Azeri fans, who hurried to reply with abusive and threatening Armenia-related comments.

When did I not believe you? We are an advanced people, and for that there many jealous people (e.g. Turks) who had inferiority complex and thus they did what they did. Same with Georgians, they have the complex, because we pretty much created their cultures, cities, alphabet, but they are afraid to admit this.

And even with Armenians abroad we suceed, for example in Russia Armenians are becoming big business men, while Azeris are still stuck making kebab on the streets.

Azerbaijani philosopher: Azeris use Armenians as personal standard
                June 29, 2011 - 17:06 AMT
PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani people have a long suffered disease called Armenian mania, Doctor of Philosophy Aidin Ali-Zadeh writes. “In psychiatry there are diseases like megalomania, persecution mania etc… We have mania of the Armenian conception,” as stated by the Ali-Zadeh’s article on the kultura.az website.
“We do everything because Armenians did so. All contests and competitions are conducted with the only aim to be ahead of the Armenians. Armenians are like standard for Azeris. It is a center of galaxy, a benchmark, we push off from. If we are said to have something negative, we instead of improving it, say that Armenia is worse in it. And if it is said that something is better in Armenia, hefty resources are immediately being provided alongside with information support, so that to make it better than in Armenia. It ended in tracing Armenian criminal chronicles to find out if our criminal is less and more humane,” the author writes.
“It is so nice that there are Armenian on earth. If not, so many people would remain unemployed, so many people would not have something to write, could not organize competitions and earn money. People would not have something to talk about. We would not have industry, agriculture, aircrafts would not fly, and trains would not go. If Armenians have all this, we, too, must have it all, but in larger quantities and of higher quality,” the article says.
It should be noted that access to kultura.az website was blocked some hours after the publication. When trying to open the site you encounter the error ‘Bandwidth Limit Exceeded’.

Azeri lawmaker on giving up Karabakh to make "Obama happy"

A top lawmaker from Azerbaijan Rasim Musabayev, speaking to Hyrriyet, made a revealing statement about president Barack Obama's position on Nagorno Karabakh conflict, while Armenia points out to concessions it is already making to Azerbaijan to reach peace and harmony in the region.

Speaking to Turkey's English-language Hyrriyet's Fulya Ozerkan, Musabayev said EU may emerge as a new mediator in Karabakh talks and that the issue may appear appear on the agenda of the U.N. Security Council in the event of no solution because Azerbaijan does not want to give up land to make the president of the United States "happy." Musabayev also added that despite refusing to recognize Karabakh's independence, Azerbaijan will back Palestine’s independence.

“Will we give up on our land just to make U.S. President [Barack] Obama happy?” asked the lawmaker. "Azerbaijan can never bow to this demand," Musabayev added, referring to Armenia's call for an immediate referendum in the region letting the local population to decide the final political status of Nagonor Karabakh. What is revealing in his remark is that the U.S. president Barack Obama supports this call as Musabayev thinks agreeing to the referendum and giving up on land will make Obama happy.

The point of referendum is one of the key principles included by the mediators (Russia, France and U.S.) Basic Principles on which the Karabakh problem is suggested to be solved. Azerbaijan does not support the idea of referendum fearing the Armenian majority of Nagorno Karabakh will vote for full independence. Instead Azerbaijan wants Armenians to withdraw forces from regions surrounding Nagorno Karabakh. Armenia, Karabakh's Army can't withdraw without resolution to the conflict and without agreeing on the region's final political status.

Armenia is concerned that it won't have any leverage in talks if it agrees to the withdrawal. Those surrounding regions are liberated by the forces of Nagorno Karabakh, not by Armenian Army. In 2009 Azerbaijan acted similarly by fiercely opposing Turkish Armenian reconciliation and the opening of the border on Turkey's part, fearing it won't have any leverage in talks with Armenia.

Armenia made 3 serious concessions that Azerbaijan does not see

Yesterday, Armenian presidential aid Garnik Isagulyan told a press conference in Yerevan, saying his country, despite being the winner, has made serious concessions to Azerbaijan, which the latter does not appreciate. Isagulyan pointed out to three concessions: non-recognition of Karabakh's independence as a respect to Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, non-participation of Karabakh people in elections in Armenia, and that the representatives of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic are not involved in negotiations. Armenia represents Karabakh's interest in negotiations with Azerbaijan.

Isagulyan added that his country can't make any further concessions if Azerbaijan is not responding positively to those currently on the table. Armenia's Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan told the journalist last Saturday, day after the Kazan Summit that the sides failed to reach an agreement because Azerbaijan brought to the table new proposals. Nalbandyan says his country's position is that the core of the problem is the final status of Nagorno Karabakh and calls on tackling that problem first to open door for solving the other symptoms of the conflict.
