Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

    [
B]New website on Western Azerbaijan launched[/B]
    [02.07.2011 16:04]

    Azerbaijan, Baku, July 2 / Trend I. Isabalayeva /

The Centre for Eurasian Security and Strategic Studies has developed and launched a new website www.qerbiazerbaycan.com with the financial assistance of the Council of State Support to NGOs under the Azerbaijani President.

The purpose of the website is to bring the true story about Western Azerbaijan, the representative of the Center for Eurasian Security and Strategic Studies Elmira Mammadova said at a presentation on Saturday.

"The Armenian lobby conducts the active propaganda," she said. "It is important to have such websites in a virtual combat with the enemy. There are few similar websites about Western Azerbaijan. We must convey historical realities to the world."

We wanted to create such a resource for a long time, but realized it only in May, the director of the center Khatam Jabbarli said.

He said that the present territory of the Republic of Armenia geographically occupies the western part of the historical lands of Azerbaijan.

This project provides information on the historical past, geography, administrative-territorial units of the Soviet period and toponyms of such eternal Azerbaijani territories as Iravan khanate and other Azerbaijani territories incorporated into Armenia, as well as deportation of Wetsern Azerbaijanis from their historical-ethnic territories accompanied by genocide, their abundant culture, literature, music, cuisine, heroes and well-known persons. Furthermore, Nagorno-Karabakh problem which emerged as a groundless territorial claim by Armenia towards Azerbaijan, genocide of 31 March 1918 and Khojali genocide of 26 February of 1992, issues arising from Geneva Convention of 1949 are particularly highlighted in the web-site, as well as the books, articles, news, photos and maps on the topic are presented to the attention of readers.
It is also planned to use the materials sent by users of the website.

Founded in four languages - Azerbaijani, Russian, English, Armenian, web-site is aimed to present truths on the history of Iravan khanate to the users, notably to facilitate the representatives of the young generation in memorizing our history, to promote our just position among the broad reader masses apart from our Motherland. The materials in foreign languages will be especially important to strengthen the position of Azerbaijan in the information war with Armenia and against false and fraudulent claims. We need the support of our fellow citizens, receiving education and living in Russia, Europe and U.S.
In the meantime, we, Armenians, don't even claim Aghdam, which has numerous ancient Armenian monuments on it's territory. Simply PATHETIC! In the future, one should not wonder why we lost the information war...

Somebody needs to hack the site and just put a giant map of Armenia sitting on all those lands two thousands years before the words "Azeri" and "Azerbaijan" were even invented. Actually, hacking isn't even necessary, just e-mail them the map.

Congratulations to Asbarez. The flow of information will be even easier to spread now. Staying on topic, does anyone know if we can type in Armenian on the iPhone yet? A couple of years ago, many requests were submitted to the Apple website about adding 'Armenian' to it and I was wondering if they finally added it.

        Asbarez Launches iPhone App
        BY ARA KHACHATOURIAN

IT’S HERE! The much anticipated Asbarez|mobile for the iPhone is here and users can download it from the Apple App Store NOW!

For more than a century, the Asbarez Armenian newspaper has been the on the forefront of developments in the Armenian world, bringing comprehensive and up-to-the-minute news, reporting and commentary to Armenian communities around the world. Today, asbarez.com is the leading global Armenian news source. Since the relaunch of our Web platform, we have been able to reach a wider audience both nationally and internationally.

So with the launch of the Asbarez|mobile, we are widening that reach to include the significant population who uses the iPhone as its main tool for information and interaction.

With Asbarez|mobile our readers can stay up-to-date with all things Armenian, read latest news from Armenia and the Diaspora, as well as commentary and stories from our Arts & Culture sections free of charge. Asbarez|mobile also provides immediate access to Horizon Armenian TV news segments as well as commentary from our world-class contributors who share their views and insights about important developments in the Armenian world and beyond.

Asbarez|mobile also gives its readers complete access to the Asbarez Facebook page and twitter profile through a built in native iPhone interface. Through the app, you can engage with Asbarez readers on our Facebook wall, read status updates from Asbarez, like posts and comment on stories. With native Twitter integration, users can also read, retweet, reply, and write posts directly from the app, as well as follow our Twitter syndication lists.

The journey to finally realize this application began when the Armenian Youth Federation learned of Asbarez’s intentions to move to the mobile application world. They immediately organized a fundraiser last fall and provided the financial resources to Asbarez to be able to hire a developer. A huge THANK YOU to the AYF Central Executive and its initiative to facilitate this process.

We would not have been able to achieve this without our talented developer, George Paloulian, who went above and beyond to develop a seamless application that accommodated our needs and incorporated the many features that make this app truly user friendly.

And of course, last but not least, our thanks go out to Asbarez English Section’s former assistant editor, Allen Yekikian who shepherded this process, with his unique knowledge of the technology. Although he moved on to greener pastures in February, he, nevertheless, tirelessly worked to ensure that we have the best to offer.

But, this is just the beginning. Asbarez is already working to expand its mobile application and soon will launch another version that can be used by all mobile devices. Soon thereafter, we will begin efforts to have an app for the Android Operating system and the iPad.

Haha, yes and she would experience a real man, not a baboon!
For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

Oskanian Reacts to President's Strasbourg Statement

                    Thursday, 23 June 2011 15:25 |
                    Analysis / Armenia
In the President’s speech in Strasbourg at the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, and especially in the questions and answers that followed, there were many misrepresentations, but three in particular must be disowned by the administration.

First, to claim that Armenia has not recognized the independence of Karabakh because Armenia accepts the principle of territorial integrity is to misrepresent Armenia’s position of the last 20 years, including his own years.

For two decades, Armenia has not recognized the independence of Karabakh specifically in order not to predetermine the outcome of the negotiations process. If Azerbaijan were to pull out of those negotiations, or attempt to use force, then the Republic of Armenia would recognize the independence of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh. That has been the policy of the Armenian Republic, through three administrations. Thus, the President’s interpretation requires retraction especially because nowhere else in his prepared remarks is there anything that in any way presents the official position itself.

Second, the principles of non-use of force, territorial integrity and self-determination, which the President listed as the Madrid principles are in fact the principles of the Helsinki Final Act and serve as the guiding philosophy for any conflict, including this one. Over the years, principles, which number more than three and are specific to the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, have been developed. They have come to be known as the Madrid principles. As far as I know, even if the Madrid Document has been revised, the principles remain the same. First among the Madrid principles has been the right of the people of Nagorno Karabakh to self-determination.

Third, after two military victories, Armenians have adhered to the negotiation process, because we have believed that there is no military solution to this conflict, and not because the Azerbaijani side has an advantage.

A peaceful resolution remains Armenians’ goal -- a resolution that is based on solid, lasting principles. In the run-up to and in Kazan, the Armenian position must be clearly and forcefully rectified. This struggle was and continues to be about Karabakh’s right to self-determination, first and foremost.
I also thought it was kind of strange for our president to talk about the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in this way, during the speech...

Looks like the brother of protocol fxxkup.

I am always nervous about Serge Sarkisyan.
                      Do not “trust” him 100%.
Not sure if he writes his own scripts or somebody else (outside forces).

He carries the excess luggage of not being democratically elected thanks to LTP .
He is venerable to political blackmail by the “rulers of the world”.
Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests
