Neither dictatorship nor oil make their future grim. Perhaps this particular dictator might but a good one would not and oil is free money i wish Armenia had. There is nothing on the horizon that would make for a grim future for Azerbadjan except for resuption of war and that is why it has not and will not happen.

It's grim in the fact that besides oil they have nothing else. When their oil runs out, which will be soon, they will probably have to start a war. The Aliyev dictatorship is pretty bad, I mean at least in Hayastan you can express an opinion with out the fear of being arrested. There's a more concept of civil society in Armenia than in Azerbaijan.

Սերժ Սարգսյանի հոկտեմբերի 4-ի հրամանագրով ՌԴ նախագահ Դմիտրի Մեդվեդևը պարգևատրվել է Փառքի շքանշանով՝ Հայաստանի և Ռուսաստանի ժողովուրդների միջև ավանդական բարեկամական կապերի ամրապնդման, Հայաստանի Հանրապետության և Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության միջև դաշնակցային ռազմավարական հարաբերությունների խորացման ու ընդլայնման, ինչպես նաև խաղաղության և միջազգային անվտանգության պաշտպանության գործում ներդրած անձնական մեծ ավանդի համար:

Իհարկե, այս հրամանագրի մեջ կարելի է հեգնանքի որոշակի տարրեր նկատել: Մասնավորապես, Մեդվեդեւի ջանքերը՝ Ադրբեջանի ու Թուրքիայի հետ ընդհուպ «երկրորդ համարով» դաշնակցելու եւ Ղարաբաղը փաստացի Ադրբեջանին հանձնելու ուղղությամբ , տարածաշրջանը կարող էին կանգնեցնել պատերազմի շեմին: Բացի այդ, նրա օրոք Հայաստանի ու Ռուսաստանի այսպես ասած ռազմավարական հարաբերությունները վերը նշվածի պատճառով հասան խզման եզրին:

Մյուս կողմից, սակայն, անգնահատելի է Մեդվեդեւի վարած քաղաքականությունը Հայաստանի մասով: Դրա շնորհիվ Հայաստանում վերջին 300 տարում առաջին անգամ սկսեցին վերաիմաստավորել այդ երկրի դերն ու նշանակությունը Հայաստանի ու հայ ժողովրդի ճակատագրում: Ըստ այդմ, Հայաստանում, չնայած Ռուսաստանի փաստաբան քաղաքական կուսակցությունների ու այսպես ասած փորձագետների հնացած դատողություններին ու պատկերացումներին, մարդիկ սկսել են խոսել հավասար գործընկերությունից եւ մերժել վասալային հարաբերությունները: Ավելին, Հայաստանում թերեւս առաջին անգամ վերջին 300 տարում սկսել են միջազգային ու ներքին քաղաքականությունից խոսել ոչ թե ռուսական, այլ սեփական շահերից ելնելով:

Այս տեսակետից, Մեդվեդեւն իսկապես արժանի է շքանշանի: Եվ Սերժ Սարգսյանի քայլն էլ գնահատանքի արժանի է:
