- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)

- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

Apparently the azeris have a petition in the "we the people" website, a website related to the white house where if you get 100,000 signatures the white house will look into it, where they ask President Obama to accept the khojaly myth. It has come out that the azeri govt officials r the ones signing the petition.

ANCA ASKS WHITE HOUSE ABOUT FOREIGN FRAUD SAFEGUARDS FOR “WE THE PEOPLE” PETITION SITE

Anti-Armenian Petition Links to Website of Top Azerbaijani Government Officials

A recent anti-Armenian “We the People” petition features
a link to Azerbaijan First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva’s
              “Heydar Aliyev Foundation”

WASHINGTON, DC - The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) has formally asked the White House for information about the types of safeguards that the Administration has put in place to protect its popular "We the People" on-line petition system against foreign attempts at fraudulent manipulation of American civil society discourse.

In a letter to White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett, ANCA Executive Director Aram Hamparian referenced the Armenian American community's concern regarding "a number of petitions addressing Armenian topics, including one that echoes, nearly word for word, the message of Azerbaijani dictator Ilham Aliyev’s well-funded, unfounded and hateful campaign to misrepresent Azerbaijan’s well-documented history of aggression against Armenia and the independent Republic of Nagorno Karabakh.” Hamparian went on to ask for greater clarity regarding rules related to international participation, and an explanation about any safeguards that have been put in place “against fraud and to protect this important arena for dialogue with our government from being abused by foreign entities.”

Several petitions echoing Azerbaijani government attacks on Karabakh rapidly collected tens of thousands of on-line signatures in recent days. The text of one in particular, titled “pay close attention on The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. 20% of Azerbaijan territory was occupied by Armenian military,” has a direct link to the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, a project headed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s multi-billionaire wife, Mehriban Aliyeva. Unlike other “We the People” petitions, where the city and state of a majority of signers is typically posted, the anti-Armenian petitions, by and large, do not have any geographic identification.

News of Azerbaijani government manipulation of online metrics and social media statistics to boost the image of authoritarian dictator Ilham Aliyev came out earlier this month in Azadlyg newpaper, with reports of pressure on government employees to “like” President Aliyev’s Facebook page in the run up to his 2013 election.

President Aliyev, who has repeatedly announced that, “our main enemies are Armenians of the world,” flew into an anti-Armenian tirade on Twitter a few months ago, stating that “Armenia is a country of no value.” He has also called Yerevan an Azerbaijani city, occupied by Armenia. The ANCA documents and, on a consistent basis, informs Congress, the Administration, and the media about Azerbaijan's threats and acts of aggression against Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh. The ANCA widely circulates a fact sheet highlighting the direct correlation between the increase in Azerbaijan’s military budget and the number of ceasefire violations on the line of contact with Armenia and Karabakh.

The ANCA Fact Sheet is available here.

The full text of the ANCA letter to Ms. Jarrett is below.

              February 13, 2013

              Ms. Valerie B. Jarrett
Senior Advisor to the President of the United States
              Office of Public Engagement
              The White House
              1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
              Washington, D.C. 20500

              Dear Ms. Jarrett,

We are writing to ask for clarification regarding the Administration’s policies regarding the White House’s “We the People” petitions.

Our inquiry is in connection to a number of petitions addressing Armenian topics, including one that echoes, nearly word for word, the message of Azerbaijani dictator Ilham Aliyev’s well-funded, unfounded and hateful campaign to misrepresent Azerbaijan’s well-documented history of aggression against Armenia and the independent Republic of Nagorno Karabakh. We would very much value your insights on the following points:

              1) Are non-U.S. residents allowed to sign White House petitions?

              2) What safeguards are in place to ensure compliance with any citizenship, residency, or other rules related to participation in White House petitions?

              3) What systems has the White House put in place to guard against fraud and to protect this important arena for dialogue with our government from being abused by foreign entities?

Thank you for your attention to our concerns and for sharing your feedback with us on this matter.

Please know how much we appreciate your service to the White House and to the American people.

              Sincerely,

              Aram S. Hamparian
              Executive Director

              the petition
President Biden and Vice President Harris promised to move quickly to deliver results for working families. That’s what they’ve done.

also there is a petition regarding Karabakh
President Biden and Vice President Harris promised to move quickly to deliver results for working families. That’s what they’ve done.

Two Azerbaijani students were brutally beaten by French parliamentary and Armenians in the French National Assembly building - UPDATED

                [ 27 February 2013 01:28 ]
Paris. Fuad Gulubeyli - APA. Today two Azerbaijani students were brutally beaten in the French National Assembly building, in Paris.

APA’s European bureau reports that French National Assembly held an event entitled "Sumgait events after 25 years: the present situation and future prospects for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh" by attendance of representatives of the Armenian-French community and several deputies to the French Parliament.

Event was organized by a member of the National Assembly of France Francois Roshebloun known as pro-Armenian parliamentarian.

Azerbaijani students studying in France Mirvari Fataliyeva and Vusal Huseynov, learning about the event came to the conference room. They have told that Khojaly genocide committed today by Armenians and chanted slogans. However, their slogans were met with threats.

Participants in the event, closing the hall’s door brutally beat Azerbaijani students. The challenge on beating them personally made by deputy Francois Roshebloun. (So a French Parliament member challenged the Armenians to beat up the azeris?)

Police officers and ambulances arrived at the scene.

Representatives of the Azerbaijani embassy in France now are at the scene. Diplomats confirmed the fact to APA, saying that “Azerbaijani students sustained serious injuries, their condition is serious, the victims will be hospitalized".

The representatives of the diplomatic mission noted that currently investigate the circumstances of the incident.

According to the European APA, the incident occurred at the beginning of the event. Thus, participants observed a minute's silence in memory of the victims who died during the Sumgait events but Azerbaijani students did not rise from their seats, the organizers asked them the reason and Mirvari Fataliyeva answered them: "Today, is the 21st the anniversary of the Khojaly genocide in Azerbaijan and we remember the victims of this tragedy."

Mirvari Fataliyeva’s answer made Armenians angry and about 40 Armenians and the French brutally beat Azerbaijani students. So it took 40 Armenians to beat up two Azeris?

Azerbaijani student Vusal Huseynov, trying to fence compatriot from injuries received most of the hit, so that was seriously injured. According to the report, he has damaged internal organs, as well as a broken rib.

                LOL
                Here is Armenia's version

Azeri Embassy Incites Brawl at French Parliament

People affiliated with the Azeri Embassy in Paris begin brawl at an event marking the 25th anniversary of the Sumgait Porgoms
PARIS—An Azeri delegation disrupted a commemoration event marking the 25th anniversary of the Sumgait Massacres taking place inside the French Parliament Tuesday when they refused to stand in observance of a moment of silence for the victims.
According to Mourad Papazian, chairman of the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organization in France (CCAF), one of the Azeris punched an event organizer, Hratch Varjabedian, who had approached them to inquire about their show of disrespect.
Eyewitnesses reported that one of the Azeris shouted that he would only stand to commemorate “the victims of Khojaly.”
After Varjabedian was punched, a group of young Armenians rushed to the scene and a brawl ensued before audience members broke it up and police cordoned off the room.
Surprisingly, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to France, Elchin Amirbeyov immediately arrived at the scene accompanied by other embassy officials and issued a condemnation of the attack.
The APA news agency reported on its Web site that Armenians locked the door of the auditorium and were accompanied by French members of the audience in “brutally” beating them.
The event, entitled, “Sumgait events after 25 years: the present situation and future prospects for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh” was organized by French Parliament member Francois Roshebloun and was attended by several parliament members.
The Nor Serount in France (AYF of France) cancelled a day-long demonstration scheduled to take place Wednesday in front of the Azeri Embassy in France for fear of more Azeri-initiated violence.

And some of the more conspiratorial Azerbaijanis allege that the Sumgait pogrom was planned by Soviet and American agents, as well as Armenians, who, of course, control all of the world banks and governments.

ziya bunyadov, best known for his anti-Armenian propaganda, claimed that the massacre had been premeditated by the Armenians to cast a negative light against Azerbaijan. By late 1988, most Sumgait Azerbaijanis had come around to the view that the Armenians had provoked the rioting with this objective in hand. In an article that appeared in the Azerbaijani journal Elm, Bunyadov claimed that Armenians had organized the pogroms: "The Sumgait tragedy was carefully prepared by Armenian nationalists...Several hours after it began, Armenian photographers and TV journalists secretly entered the city where they awaited in readiness." Bunyadov's thesis was hinged on the fact that Sumgait Armenians had withdrawn more than one million rubles from their savings before the attacks. To support his thesis, he had also drawn attention to the fact that one of the participants in the riots and killings was Eduard Grigorian, a man of mixed Russian-Armenian lineage who had three previous criminal convictions and pretended to be Azerbaijani. Grigorian was a factory worker who took part in gang rapes and mass attacks and was subsequently sentenced to 12 years for his role in the massacres. Grigorian had been brought up in Sumgait by his Russian mother following the early death of his Armenian father, and his ethnic identity is considered irrelevant since he appropriately fit the profile of a "pogromshchik, a thuggish young man, of indeterminate nationality with a criminal past, seeking violence for its own sake."

unfortunately the whole Grigorian thing can be explained using azeri govt papers

Yeah, Bunyadov's Grigorian silliness is mentioned in Thomas de Waal's Black Garden. That criticism and the pogromshchik quote is actually pulled from his book.
