I like how they claim Armenians steal from our neighbors and in the same article they claim Persian poets and writers as azeri and how they claim duduk is turkish. Also i have not heard any Armenian claim khachapuri.

I am just curious on one point.
In which language and alphabet the turks did create a dictionary in the 7 th century, and where exactly was it created??? In the steppes of Turkestan, or in the pre-Bagradite Armenia?
Or might be on the moon??

This point is as impressive as Erdogan's discovery of America by unknown muslims....

At the end, they will claim, that when Lwis Armstrong walked on the moon, it was thanks to the map on their flag, since the moon too is an ancient turkic land....

The Story Behind the 1988 Baku-Gyumri Airline Disaster

1988-earthquakeIn the early morning hours of December 11, 1988, the Baku-Gyumri airline flight IL-76M crashed into the mountains and perished 15 kilometers from the Gyumri airport. Of the 69 passengers and nine crew, only one person, Azerbaijani Fahraddin Balaev survived, as he was lucky enough to be in the cab of a truck at the tail end of the airplane. This was Armenia’s worst air catastrophe, about which only a few people within and probably beyond its borders know about.

I will elaborate on the details later, but first let me explain why I’m dwelling on this incident only 26 years later. Azerbaijani CBC (Caspian Broadcasting Company) satellite television network that broadcasts primarily in Russian (it also has news broadcasts in English, Armenian and Persian), aired a film on December 11 relaying the events of the flight IL-76M catastrophe, falsifying the story from beginning to end.

Very little was written about the crash of the Baku-Gyumri flight at that time for two reasons: First, during the Soviet Union, even in 1988, not only were there very few news reports about airline disasters, but there was also a deliberate attempt to hide them from people.The second and perhaps main reason was that the crash of flight IL-76M occurred four days after the devastating December 7, 1988 earthquake and, certainly this plane crash couldn’t have attracted such attention because it was pushed to the background of the disaster that claimed the lives of 25 thousand people.

In recent years, Azerbaijan has begun to bring up the issue of the airplane crash in an attempt to further tarnish the image of Armenia. If previously, Azerbaijan considered the circumstances surrounding the plane crash as mysterious, today it is leveling direct accusations against Armenia, saying that the pilots were allegedly given wrong coordinates deliberately, resulting in the plane crash in the mountains. The real cause of the crash, according to the black box and the conclusion was that it was human error by the crew. The ensuing investigation also revealed that the flight crew did not have enough rest during the days preceding the flight, and made several consecutive flights the days prior.

In fact, weather conditions in December 1988 were very unfavorable. At the time, there was another air tragedy involving a plane from Yugoslavia bringing aid for the victims of the earthquake. It crashed in the valley between the towns of Etchmiadzin and Armavir. There are also claims that the leader of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev miraculously survived a near crash of his plane. Gorbachev had terminated his official visit to New York to visit the disaster zone, Gyumri.

Azerbaijan says that flight IL-76M was an Azerbaijani plane which rushed to the aid of the earthquake victims, and the “treacherous” Armenians shot it down. The truth is, the aircraft belonged to the Ministry of Defence of the Soviet Union, the military air force located on Lithuanian territory. The nine pilots of the airplane were all Russians (here are their last names – Brilyov, Sokolov, Razumni, Plashkin, Ivlev, Sherkov, Ribalchenko, Avilov, Altukhov). The Azerbaijani side repeatedly states that the aircraft passengers were Azerbaijanis, which is only partly true. In fact, the passengers were multinational – 50 Azerbaijani, 13 Lezgin, 11 Russians, two Tatars, one Armenian and one xxx. All of them were reserve officers of the USSR Armed Forces, who were coming to carry out rescue operations in Gyumri. The sole survivor, Azerbaijani Fahraddin Balaev died 22 years after the disaster, in 2010. The Azerbaijanis claim that Balaev was left in Gyumri without medical care. The truth is, he was taken to Moscow from Gyumri on a military helicopter, received treatment and returned to Azerbaijan.

The December 7 earthquake shook the whole world. Armenia received aid not only from abroad, including the Diaspora, but also from former Soviet republics, including Azerbaijan. It is true that the Karabakh problem had already drawn a line between Armenians and Azerbaijanis, the Sumgait massacre had already taken place, but Armenia and Azerbaijan were and still would be a part of the USSR until 1991. During those days of disaster, Armenia hosted the USSR government, which included Azerbaijani leader Abdurahman Vezirov. It is also true that the Azerbaijani government sent their condolences to the Armenian people and government. Moreover, the government of Soviet Armenia awarded the Azerbaijani rescuers (the group was led by Emil Akhundov) who were working in the village of Gharibjanyan near Gyumri and primarily assisting the villages from the Amasya region, with a certificate of gratitude. The population of the Amasya region was more than 70% Azerbaijani.

In fact, Azerbaijani aid to the victims of the Gyumri earthquake was very limited for two main reasons: First, as I mentioned, the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict was already under way, and during the days following the earthquake, the train carriages arriving in Yerevan from Baku, had messages written on them in big letters congratulating Armenia for the earthquake.

Today, some Azerbaijanis dare to say out loud that they are ashamed of this atrocious act by their countrymen. After the earthquake the trains carrying aid to the earthquake victims from various cities of the USSR were looted while passing through Azerbaijani territory. In the Soviet era, 85% of Armenia’s trade was through Makhachkala (Dagestan)-Baku-Nakhichevan-Yerevan railway.

The second reason was that Armenia, as a country in mourning, did not want to receive aid from a republic where the Sumgait massacre had taken place a few months earlier. There were cases when Armenians sent back Azerbaijani aid right from the border, and Armenia’s Prime Minister at the time Fadei Sargsyan wrote about this in his book entitled “The Lessons of Life”.

The first plane from Azerbaijan to help the victims of the earthquake landed at the Gyumri airport in the morning of December 9. Today, Azerbaijani propaganda, distorting the truth, is spreading false information, claiming that the plane was allegedly held up at the airport for 11 hours, and the Armenians did not even give water to the rescuers. Azerbaijani CBC Television’s film says that “Vagif Akhundov rescued a Russian child and a whole Armenian family, a mother and two children, but the Armenians struck him in his back with some kind of an instrument,” because he was an Azerbaijani.

Immoral falsifications don’t end with this. The film claims that French rescuers allegedly discovered bodies of murdered Azerbaijani children there, who were brutally killed by Armenians before December 7.

Today, the Azerbaijani side has again put the 1988 December 11 airplane crash into circulation, in an attempt to counterbalance and to equalize it with the Armenian helicopter that was shot down in November of 2014 near the Karabakh-Azerbaijan line of contact. In this way, Baku probably hopes to ease the international community’s response, which, albeit indirectly, condemned Azerbaijan’s provocative actions – the shooting down of a helicopter performing a training flight.

The Head of State noted that and last year Armenia has chosen a strategy of imitations in the negotiation process: “I believe that neither for us nor for intermediaries it’s no longer a secret that Armenia does not want peace. Armenia does want this conflict to be settled, and does not want to leave the occupied lands. Despite the fact that the presidents of the OSCE Minsk Group have repeatedly said that the status quo is unacceptable, but these are just only words, nothing but a word. Words, only words, and these words have no serious policy. If the status quo is unacceptable - and it is, of course, unacceptable - then has to be taken any measures. It should be exerted pressure on the aggressor state. It should be forced to withdraw from the occupied lands. Otherwise, it will be some kind of hypocrisy. It’s making some statement, but after no work is carried out. As well as, the UN Security Council adopted 4 resolutions and it’s already 20 years that these resolutions remain unimplemented. Why elsewhere resolutions are immediately implemented, and coming to our case are not implemented? This is an injustice, it is a double standard. "

According to President Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani people already knows, understands that failure to resolve this conflict can not be explained only by the unconstructive position of Armenia: "It seems that in the world there are forces that are not interested in resolving this conflict. Apparently, there are forces that are interested in seeing this conflict remained frozen, semi-frozen state and use it as a means of pressure on Azerbaijan. The case we see in recent years in different regions such as in Europe, in the Middle East reinforces this position, this approach. This is the conclusion of these processes. Therefore, should be clarified that until when we encounter these double standards?! "

Azerbaijani President noted that in the summer of last year and at the end of the previous year Armenia repeatedly resorted to an open provocation: "And both times Azerbaijani army gave a fitting rebuff to the enemy, pointing them their place. In the summer months, more than 50 invaders killed. In November, as a provocation of Armenians did not remain unanswered. Responsibility for the events that occurred as a result of all these provocations is leadership of Armenia - criminal, dictatorial regime. For today's deplorable situation in Armenia is directly responsible present and former leadership of the country. Because of their aggressive policy, Armenia could not manifest itself as an independent country. In fact, it did not even achieve independence. It simply is a mere formality."

The Head of State emphasized that although there was not any progress in the negotiations, however, in the past year much has been done to resolve the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict - both in terms of policy, within a regional framework, as well as in the military sphere - on the battlefield: “We gave a fitting rebuff to the armenians that that they still can not come in themselves are in disarray, in hysterics. They are now trying to blame us at various international events. But the question arises: what Armenian soldiers do in Agdam, Fizuli? What Armenian army is doing there? Why no one openly does not say it them, except us? Why involved in the matter mediators stay indifferent to it? These are rhetorical questions. We know why. Nevertheless, we have to ask these questions at every event, every forum."

According to President Ilham Aliyev, these questions should be asked by government officials, public figures, deputies, ordinary citizens, members of civil society: "Let them answers to these questions, for the policy of double standards, pro-Armenian policy. Otherwise, already it is difficult to tolerate such hypocrisy. I believe that already there is no need to speak in the language of diplomacy. I want to repeat that the truth is that remaining of our lands under occupation is not just the work of Armenia. Armenia is powerless, poor country, in a helpless state. Of course, if Armenia has no patrons in various capitals, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict would found its fair settlement. Even today the Armenian leadership recognizes it. Without external support they can not keep the lands under the occupation. But we are fighting alone. Our recent history has shown that we are even alone able to struggle, protect its national interests".

“In 2015 we will further strengthen the army potential of the country. Rather large funds are allocated for these purposes. Suffice it to say that the funds earmarked for military spending, more than double the total budget of Armenia. In our growing army discipline, combat capability, the patriotic spirit is at a high level. We become stronger and Armenia is growing weaker. This is an inevitable process. Russian First Public TV pictures Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan

Russian First Public TV referred yesterday to the death of 6 months old baby Seryozha Avetisyan. The anchor reported that for seven days the best medical staffs of Armenia and Russia were doing everything to save the baby’s life but the miracle did not happen.

“The number of massacred people reached 7. A whole family,” he said, adding that soldier of the Russian military base Valery Permyakov is currently in the Russian military base.

According to the Russian law he will face life in prison. The anchor also said that Russian president twice phoned the Armenian President to express his condolences.

The remarkable thing in this reference to the Gyumri case was the image behind the anchor which pictured Armenia’s map with Karabakh being presented as part of Azerbaijan.

P.S. It is more than clear that there was no need to picture a map for this reference and “give” Karabakh to Azerbaijan intentionally or accidentally.

A French song to be presented at Europe’s biggest pop music contest this year is believed to be about the Armenian Genocide perpetrated in Ottoman Turkey a century ago.

According to the official website of the Eurovision Song Contest, the song of France’s contest Lisa Angell, 46, entitled “N’oubliez pas”, or “Don’t Forget” was first performed at a concert in November during the commemoration period of the First World War, “while the singer emphasizes that the song refers not only to this very special event in history but to any kind of conflict.”

There is a part of the lyrics in the song sung in French that translates as: “I remember the smiles of the kids, the voice of the men when they went out in the fields, the Thanksgiving celebrations, the scent in the houses, the love and laughter. But I am here, do not forget.”

The song makes no specific reference to any historical event, including the Armenian Genocide, as Eurovision rules prohibit “political messages” in contestants’ entries.

France was one of the nations that gave refuge to many Armenian survivors of the Ottoman-era massacres. The country that has a sizable ethnic Armenian community today officially recognized the Armenian Genocide in 1998.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2015 is due to take place in Vienna, Austria, on May 19-23.

French president reaffirms April 24 visit to Yerevan, calls on Turkey to face its past “taboos”

French President Francois Hollande has confirmed that he would attend Armenian Genocide centennial commemoration events in Yerevan on April 24, while at the same time urging Ankara to come to terms with its past and “break taboos.”

Hollande was speaking at a banquet organized on January 28 by the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations in France (CCAF) that featured other high-ranking dignitaries and officially kicked of Genocide Centennial activities in France.

“The effort toward the truth must continue and I am convinced that this centenary year will see new gestures, new steps on the road to recognition,” Hollande told the audience, as quoted by Asbarez.com.

The French leader also said that last year’s condolence message offered by then Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was not “enough,” adding, that Ankara’s position “cannot stop there”.

“It is time to break the taboos and for the two nations, Armenia and Turkey, to create a new beginning,” he said.

Hollande also praised the important role the French-Armenian community plays in the development of France. “Today, when our country has become the target of barbarism, intolerance, hatred and terrorism, you, the Armenians of France, give us all an example of dignity, which is the subject of our common pride,” he said.

Hollande’s presence at the CCAF annual banquet was seen as unique sign of political support.
According to the co-chairman of CCAF Mourad Papazian, with his presence, the French President declared that he is showing his political support on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

“The President mentioned that he would be in Yerevan on April 24 to express his support to the Armenian Cause and called on Turkey to confront its past and recognize the Armenian Genocide this year,” Papazian who said he was confident the new steps in the recognition of the Armenian Genocide will be taken.

I know Prince Charles is going to Turkey but then they will do anything for a "doner" kebab ....
