Im glad they are installing another russian base because with three hostile neighbors we will need more then one base (plus who knows what will happen with Iran..).

            Armenian Soldier Killed In Karabakh

An Armenian soldier was shot dead on Tuesday on a frontline position at a volatile section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani “line of contact” around Nagorno-Karabakh.

Citing “preliminary data,” Armenia’s Defense Ministry said the 19-year-old conscript, Vaghinak Baghdasarian, was killed by Azerbaijani forces. A ministry statement said military authorities are investigating the incident.

A ministry source told RFE/RL’s Armenian service (Azatutyun.am) that the shooting took place in northeastern Karabakh.

Ceasefire violations there have been a regular occurrence in recent years. They have also become more frequent at other sections of the heavily militarized frontline as well as along Armenia’s border with Azerbaijan.

International mediators have increasingly expressed concern at such incidents and urged the parties to the Karabakh conflict to bolster the ceasefire regime with confidence-building measures. In particular, they want both sides to withdraw snipers from the frontlines and jointly investigate truce violations.

The Armenian government and Karabakh’s ethnic Armenian leadership say they are ready to do this.

Azerbaijan, however, has repeatedly spoken out against sniper withdrawal. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov also effectively rejected in June the idea of joint investigations.

Great news! I think it's connected with that Radar Base in Azerbaijan (gabala), the Azeris raised the rent, so the Russians threatened to take it to our territory. Anybody know where in Armenia the base will be?

Even those Iranian Azeris are mostly friendly to Armenians, and anti-Azerbaijan. They are rather patriotic and support Iran and Iran's territorial integrity.

RIP Vaghinak. I didnt say there is a problem with Iran now but if the west and the xxxs start a war there we will have refugee issues and we will be completely surrownded should Iran fall. It seemed that article was about another base in Armenia.

I have been to Aspar Arms shop and shooting range in Armenia and they are pretty professional with lots of cool stuff you won't find elsewhere. They have a shop on Mashtots and a shooting range/shop on Mamikonyan.
