BTW, its Southern Goranboy and in no way part of Nagorno Karabakh region. That map also includes Kalbejar, Lachin etc...wich is neither part of Karabakh region.

Can you not read a map? The 1 refers to the Shahumyan province of Artsakh which includes the region formerly bastardised as "Kelbajar". Since the upper portion of Shahumyan is under Azeri occupation, we can deduce that they visited the lower part that has already been liberated ("Kelbajar").

It is the same reason why Russia had not recognise Abkhazia and South Ossetia until the recent war.

It is not only war that is needed. Armenia recognising Artsakh would automatically deem it as a 'rebel' in the international community that is recognising states by itself without giving negotations a chance.

You are confusing NKAO with 'Karabakh' as a region which is actually even larger than what you see in the map above and includes mountainous and valley Karabakh. Before NKAO was created "Kelbajar" "Lachin" "Zangelan" "Ghubatli" were all within Karabakh which was ruled by Armenian nobility (meliks) whose descendants even today are amongst prominent representatives in Artsakh. There was also no "Lachin corridor" as Artsakh was actually connected to the rest of Armenia, that was done on purpose much later in the 1930s.
