Sorry to bring this to the NK military balance thread but i'm sure it's of great interest to many people who post here especially given anti-tank discussions for our own country.
What happened is that the tank got so hot inside that everything took fire . It was 700-1500°C inside ( I think ) but the man coming out of the tank didn't died. He got burned badly.

During the mid seventies which I am familiar with tank ammunition was kept individually in
double skinned reinforced fibreglass containers with water in between to avoid this type of runaway explosions.

Clearly since then tank defence and destroy technology has moved on.

No tank in the world will survive an RPG-29 strike from the side. Side and rear armour on a tank are not as strong as on the frontal arc.
In this particular case, the RPG-29 round penetrated the armour and ignited the rounds that were on the tank's auto-loader carrousel. One crew member got out just in time to survive, the other 2 perished in the ammunition cook-off.
On a side note, the Syrian Army is not using its tanks correctly in urban warfare. Infantry should be with them at all times in these narrow streets. Otherwise they will fall prey to RPG rounds fired at relatively short range by the terrorist islamist scum.

I doubt very much these rumors.
AK-12 is still in the testing stage by the Russian Defence Ministry. The Russians have yet to decide to acquire them (after the tests are concluded).

concerning our SU-25s, Does ArmAF have any kh-25/kh-25ML or kh-29L to try some precision guided bombing? Even if we have some of these, It sounds like we will just have to aim and shoot mostly, right?

To deploy a KH-25ML missiles you need a nose mounted optical target tracking sensor with boresighted laser designator on the aircraft. Our SU-25s might have them but not sure.

The KH 29s are normally carried by supersonic aircraft
