APA reports that the incident was recorded on the contact line.

Soldier Heydarov Ibrahim Rauf hit a mine. He was hospitalized in serious state.

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. A soldier of Azerbaijani Army committed suicide. APA reports that the incident was recorded in a military unit in Terter region.

Orkhan Alamkhan Mirzazadeh serving in that military unit shot himself with the service gun.

Russian Troops To Land in Karabakh Airport

On March 12 Serzh Sargsyan will leave for Moscow to meet with Vladimir Putin. Among the issues which, according to the press, will be discussed, there is one relating to the CSTO and the airport of Stepanakert.
This is a very interesting combination and it appears that both issues will be discussed in the same context. It is possible that the airborne troops mentioned by General Shamanov will be deployed in Stepanakert airport.
In his congratulatory message to Serzh Sargsyan President Barack Obama said that American investors are willing to invest in Armenia and are looking for a favorable climate. Obviously, the United States has decided to establish closer relations with Armenia through boosting investment. And Russia understands that they will have nothing more powerful than the traditional natural gas price to offer in exchange.
Probably, the airport of Stepanakert was identified as such a step. By the way, Barack Obama stated in his congratulatory message that it is necessary to take up steps towards the Karabakh settlement. It is possible that the U.S. prepares steps to operate the airport for which it intends to give the necessary guarantees. In response, Russia promised an airborne landing as it did in Serbia. Although this time the U.S. and Russia may have agreed on joint use of the airport.
Apparently, on March 12 Serzh Sargsyan will have to answer these proposals in Moscow. The opening of Stepanakert airport will not mean much for civil flights but the airport could acquire huge strategic importance for the United States and Russia. The U.S. could use it as a transit point for NATO troops, and it will enable Russia to send its troops to Karabakh.
Stepanakert airport would change drastically the status quo in Karabakh. First, it would mean that the threats of Turkey and Azerbaijan are not taken seriously, and the factor of force settlement of the conflict will disappear. Second, the operation of Stepanakert airport will mean recognition of the independence of Karabakh. Third, it will change completely the regional policy and could lead to opening of borders.
However, the entry of foreign forces in Karabakh will mean that all the initiatives will move from the Armenian side to the other, and the political decisions will be made already at gunpoint of foreign machines.

this article smells fishy. lragir is known for it's shady opinions.
And I guess Russia will blackmail Serj and screw its relations with Azerbaijan and the whole peace process and land a bunch of VDV guys in middle of karabakh... Why didn't they do this yet if it's so easy?

The former head of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards has acknowledged that Iranian military forces did indeed take part in the Nagorno-Karabakh War between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia in the early 1990s.

In an interview with the Sahar TV channel, Mohsen Rezaei, who was the commander of the Revolutionary Guards during the six-year war between Iran’s two northern neighbours, said he had ordered his forces to provide special military assistance to the armed forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

“I personally issued an order … for the Republic of Azerbaijan army to be equipped appropriately and for it to receive the necessary training,” he said. “Many Iranians died in the Karabakh War. In addition to the wounded, who were transported to [Iran], many of the Iranian martyrs of the Karabakh War are buried in Baku.”

“Karabakh is a part of Islamic lands and the Republic of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity must be guaranteed through peaceful means.”

Rezaei, who is currently the Secretary of the Expediency Discernment Council, recently announced that he would be running in the upcoming presidential elections in June.

He rejected claims within the Republic of Azerbaijan that Iran offered no assistance to Baku during its war with Armenia, saying that they were made by individuals close “the West” and “international Zionism.”

2nd communication to baboons . 1st was arresting the 50+ mafia ( very rich ) baboons , now this .
A clear message from Russia -- that airport is open for business --- complete counter to baboon desire .
Russia is pissed off about Gabala radar .
I do not know about " VDV guys " but this can't be good for turks .
The arms and military cooporation package recently accomplished was also another clear communication .
Am waiting and wondering what form the next communication will take . The Russians are very angry .

No foreign troops should be allowed to land in Artsakh, Armenia should just thank US and Russia for their offer but say no thanks......domestic flights to Armenia should start as soon as possible.

If individual Iranians lent a helping hand to their "brothers", that may be so, hell, if people came all the way from Afghanistan then why wouldn't iranians go fight, but Iranian authorities lending direct help (training and intelligence help), that's whole different ballgame, and our and russian intelligence would know about it if true.
BTW, here's an article about it. The Iranians could have provided some logistics and training to Azeris and Afghans.
