Georgian FM suggests demilitarisation of Geirgian-Armenian border

                  13 April 2013 - 11:05am
Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Pandzhikidze has met with Armenian President Serzh Sarsgyan during her first official visit to the country. The Georgian official said the two countries' bilateral relations had a rich history and were developing successfully.

The Georgian foreign minister also suggested demilitarisation of the Georgian-Armenian border. The corresponding project was presented to the Armenian president by Pandzhikidze, together with her Armenian counterpart Edvard Nalbandyan.

I had no idea the border was militarized! Why? How many of ours are guarding it? Any pictures?

Also, I'm glad that this is a Georgian initiative.

They are also suspicious of the Armenian minority in Javakhk.

The jingoists among them claim Armenia's Lori province to be historically Georgian and the Georgian Orthodox Church has made claims on several monasteries in that region.
