Love the new video's of our Airforce, but they need to increase the number of our Cadets, those classrooms can hold many more students (up to 15). You can keep them in ground school and on simulator time if short on L-39s trainer or cost issues
but even then you could give at least 4 students actual flight time (2 hrs each) per week in one jet with one good flight instructor, then alternate students following week if they ready.

With that said I see a good trend (but slow for me) towards strengthening our air superiority wings over Armenia and Artsakh.....which will also lead to effective border patrol.
Our UAV technology also needs more boost from the government.

So, in europe the families are in great shape ha?
You say to worry about improving Armenia's economy, great, which is more important then, talking about europe or getting rid of domestic oligarkhy? Since in my opinion anybody that wants to improve Armenia's economy should start a struggle to get rid of corruption and shadow economy first.
If the EU idea is circulated by some oligarkhy then isn't it abvious that we're screwed one way or another. Maybe it's better to stop jerking russia's tail so if there is some left in Armenia, they can still live there.
If "Europe" idea is circulated by liberals, then isn't it better to come up with a viable opposition first, that people can trust?
Somehow I see European associacion being pushed by some in hopes of getting rid of karabakh issue safely with the help of west as it is abvious that russia is going to keep it alive in the future for some time. Then maybe the border with turkey can be opened (of course first getting rid of russian contingents) and "money will flow". This is in works for many years. But, I would like to know, will we have to accept that genocide never happened, in order to normalize relations with turkey, since we cannot swing our arms at turkey from europe's back like we do now?
When will people see that bad economy in Armenia is mostly because of corruption and some bad soviet left over mentalities more then foreign partnerships?

Europe is absolutely not the model for family values, that was my point. I was saying, if the issue is adopting European values is possibly losing traditional values, you're losing that in Armenia right now because of the low reproduction rate and families being broken apart to due seasonal workers and emmigration.
And the point of EU is, I believe it will be the easiest way to rid ourselves of the oligarchs. The Oligarchs have a monopoly in Armenia, in part due to the insane import rates, put there by the govt so the oligarchs don't have to compete with foreign big fish. More trade would automatically bring down those walls. Moreover, I would be much more hopeful of following the EU in hopes of reducing corruption and the shadow economy, than anyone in Eurasia, considering Armenia is literally far more democratic and less corrupt than every single prospective member in that union.

With or without physical annihilation, Armenia is being annihilated anyways. Without breaking down of the family unit, the family unit has broken down.
Because the population of Armenia is free-falling. Armenia won't have to be destroyed, when there's no Armenians left in Armenia, and it's just a Russian military outpost.
How about stop worrying about military annihilation, and worry about the population not dwindling down to zero, and about improving Armenia's economy to where its self sustaining.

The EU has already a solution for this. If you have any clever ideas its without an opt-out .

Inward migration both from within Europe and from underdeveloped countries.

Forty (40%) of the population of London is people who were not born in the UK ( me included ha ha )
I would say another 20% their offsprings ( born locally). I am sure the picture is similar in other countries.

It works !!!
The city is fully populated. People can make lots of money ... those who can .... and I am not talking about hard work here.

National security? The only possibility would be France who has never threatened to invade England since Napoleon.

........ I think we have to be careful we do not enter paradise rediscovered mentality.

My two cents:

All this complaining about ending corruption is pointless. Yes it is by far the largest issue, but to say "we need to get rid of corruption" has no value at all.

This is my idea: make every effort to open border with Turkey without compromising values. I think it's possible for this to be done, especially after 2015. Transportation costs will go down, Armenian goods will have access to larger markets (Turkey and Europe), standard of living will increase, and thus emigration will decrease.

With regards to corruption, I see two problems. 1. Certain companies are allowed to monopolize unfairly, thus driving up the prices for goods and reducing variety in the market. BUT, they are only able to do this because there are no other companies! Nobody forces Armenians to buy from them, they just have no other choice. Instead, open border to Turkish firms and Armenian businesses will have to keep their prices competitive.

2. The police force (though this nothing to do with border opening). In this regard, the only solution I see is for a new, authoritarian figure as president. He should double police salaries,so that nobody can make the excuse that corruption exists because they do not make enough, but make it clear that inconsistent application of the law or bribe-taking equates to life in prison.

There is the small issue that the border was closed by Turkey, so its up to them to open it.

Their precondition to Armenia is help us to bring Artsakh to their knees !!!!

Hakob haven't you figured it out yet man? If you point out the obvious "Russia is the only guerantee of our physical security" then you are loyal to Russia and a betrayor or all that is Armenian. People would rather look at the world via rose colored glasses then deal with the reality at hand. Forget the Turkish blockade-it is Russia that is holding Armenia back. Forget all the times the western nations have stabbed us in the back and the 100 years that Russia has protected our western border..Russia is our enemy and the west our friend. Forget reality and embrace wishful thinking seems to be the creed of these people with the funny glasses. No reasonable argument will sway them for their alternate reality looks sooo much better then the actual reality. The reality for Armenia is and has been xxxx because of where our nation is and who our neighbors are and the decisions of our predecessors. If you do not want to accept this reality then please go play some alternate reality mmo-there are a lot of pretty good ones out there and some of the newer ones actually let you change your physical environment-cant wait to hear the ideas these guys come up with after playing these. Reality is not pretty for Armenia and perhaps it never was but ignoring it is not the answer.
