I know it seems unlikely, but all Soviet aircraft were designed to primarily take-off from dirt airfields or regular roads because if WW3 started Soviet airfields would probably get nuked or damaged fairly quickly. The Mig-23 has a minimum take-off distance of 900m and Im assuming thats with an average combat load. Because Armenia is so small, you could fuel the plane up to 1/2 or 3/4 thus reducing the take-off distance a little more, maybe 100 or 200 meters less.

If they were transferred to the out Air force, I assume they are hidden in a hangar or structure in the middle of nowhere next to a road, ready to take-off and intercept. Hopefully they would been divided into to twoo or three groups to prevent one strike from destroying all of them.

I dont think they'll change all the Mig-29's for a long time, maybe 5 years, and if Russia doesn't help with the maintenance and operating cost of the 18 Mig's, it's going to cost Armenian's tens of millions a year. Probably still worth it.

Look again, those are not the trainee soldiers shooting on FA in the air.....its the instructor/trainers adding realism.

Some of the training in this video comes very close to US Seal or Russian Spetnaz exercises that I have seen in other videos.

Maybe you wanna look yourself? They were having a mock firefight with them sticking their AKs int he air and blindly spraying above the enemy targets. And no those weren't instructors.

no, tornado-g is same bm21 but with 40km range instead of 20, NKR defence ministre sayd that they recived too much artillery and about 100 tanks that need to build new hangars
