President awards Armenian soldiers affected by landmine explosion

YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan bestowed orders and medals upon the military servicemen that were affected as a result of a recent landmine explosion in Tavush Region.
The President decided to award the MOD servicemen below, in recognition of their courage and personal bravery manifested while carrying out their official duties:
Captain Georgi Mnatsakanyan (posthumously), Captain Armen Tsaturyan, Senior Lieutenant Garush Hambardzumyan, Senior Lieutenant Hovhannes Muradyan, Private Narek Hakobyan, and Private Edgar Harutyunyan.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, Armenian army officer, Captain Georgi Mnatsakanyan—who was born in 1988 and serving in the armed forces since 2005—sustained a fatal landmine explosion wound and he died as a result. He sustained the fatal wound on Wednesday, at around 8:30pm, while carrying out a combat matter at the control area of a military unit stationed at the northeastern border of Armenia. In addition, Senior Lieutenant Garush Hambardzumyan—who is in average critical condition—, conscript, Private Narek Hakobyan—who is in satisfactory condition—, and conscript, Private Edgar Harutyunyan—who is in average critical condition—sustained wounds and were transferred to the MOD Central Garrison Military Hospital in capital city Yerevan.
