maybe good helmets stop bullets of m16 but in case of Armenia its not so helpful, the bullet of akm cant even body armor stop, but anyway now there is sniper war in armenia, so even bad, svd bullet is powerfull and 100% penetrates any armour, including light armoured vehicle... it is typical western style, if you dont have helmet and armour on you dont go out, our SF dont even use body armor you knew?

Yes I know, Western soldiers are not only fighting against ex soviet republics, or militia/militarys that use Ak-47s. The Armenian/Azerbaijani service rifle is an AK-74/Ak-74M. It uses a smaller round. 5.45x39. While it does have penetrating power it does not really penetrate body armor as well as an AKM (AKM uses 7.62x39). The M16s round tumbles on impact, increasing damage when it hits the target. It has much better stopping power than a Ak-74. Having a proper helmet and body can greatly reduce causalities when fighting against an army that uses NATO/Ak-74 weapons. AK weapons are also slightly inaccurate, there is a different way you actually have to aim an AK to get it to hit on target, while with NATO weapons you aim the normal way anyone would aim a gun. Armenia is seriously losing this arms race unfortunately, AzerBaboon is using its precious oil money to fuel its military. The very least Armenia can do is provide their soldiers with decent protection,

As low as our numbers are and as many as our enemies are we must provide the best basic equipment issues to our regular soldiers including latest design and composition of helmets.....not the egg shell we got now that most wouldn't want to use since it has almost no protection and not ergonomic enough to a point that it might interfer with your job.

I know helmet has saved my life three times already......once around aircraft and twice on motorbike.

. I could not have said it better myself. Infantry is the backbone to a military, it deserves alot more attention than its getting now. Little things in the field can cause large problems. The government told the public modernization would be complete in 2015...its almost 2014 now and I have seen no progress. Where is the money going? 500 million dollars? To be honest, I think the equipment that the Army SF have should be the new norm in the army. Soviet weapons are becoming junk, not as quickly as people say but it is. Armenia has literally been getting most of its arms for greatly reduced prices or for free, so what has it been buying? BTR-80s are nice but Armenia doesn't even have too many of them, and the weapons on those ones are a bit old compared to Azerbaijan's. BMP-1s and MT-LBs are not cutting it anymore, there needs to be serious changes. We ignore and shrug off Azerbaijan's military buildup....we cannot underestimate them. They are perfectly capable of everything we can do, they are also humans with two legs and two arms, we have seen their soldiers in battle on the border and of course we all know their soldiers are poorly trained and motivated. Now, I hear Armenians saying "It will be just like NKR war, they will be slaughtered and we will be victorious" During the NKR war, Azerbaijan's OMON groups and "army" was extremely disorganized and did not have the weapons they have today. Its foolish for us to just ignore it, our government needs to respond with publication of perhaps a large purchase. If war was to break out right now, alot of our soldiers will die, so will theirs, but do we really want so many deaths on our side? Would we still be victorious if we had 5-10k dead? People do not win wars...they simply survive them.

Yes they have more stuff then we do but that was the case in the first war to. You seem to disregard the fact that Armenia too has grown by leaps and bounds militarily. The biggest threat to Armenia/Artsakh is not the Azeri military but the depopulation of Armenian territories. We saw that despite all kinds of odds and weapon shortages our men can still win wars but our country without our men will not be our country anymore. It is not more weapons that we need but a homeland that our people will want to live in.

Its about standoff weapons and good air and anti tank defense systems. We will get Air defense covered ( http://asbarez.com/116368/russia-pla...-with-armenia/ and we just need to purchase lots of latest anti tank weapons. The victor will be the country that can destroy targets at a distance not directly engage them in field of battle. Thats the key, tanks and IFV are irrelevant, its not IRAQ, think Kosovo air power and stand off weapons did the job for US. This is what both sides are striving for, Azeris don't have the Air power required to have superiority and neither do they have sufficient amount of stand off weapons. Just like any war in non desert terrain or flat European plains, 80% of the job is destroying strategic assets crippling communications and logistics, attacking concentrated armor and troops from a distance. 20% will be tank battles and direct troop battles. Armenia should get many AR1As with lots of missiles possibly missile production capacity, and high precision tactical theater missiles. Such weapons will stop and large attack dead in its tracks, opening possibility of counter attack to gain ground.

Ռուսաստանը նախատեսում է ուժեղացնել Բելառուսի հետ Միացյալ հակաօդային պաշտպանության համակարգը, որից հետո անցնել Հայաստանի և Ղազախստանի հետ նմանատիպ համակարգերի ստեղծմանը։ Այս մասին հայտնել է ՌԴ նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինը բարձրաստիճան սպաների ներկայացման արարողությանը։

Ըստ ՌԴ նախագահի՝ այդպիսի համագործակցությունը հնարավորություն է տալու եվրասիական տարածքում ամրապնդել խաղաղություն և կայունություն։ Նա նաև նշել է, որ ընթացիկ տարում բարեհաջող անցել է «Արևմուտք-2013» ռուս-բելառուսական մարտավարական զորավարժությունը։

«Բարելավելու ենք մեր ավանդական դաշնակիցների և գործընկերների հետ փոխգործակցությունը, առաջին հերթին ՀԱՊԿ, Շանհայի համագործակցության կազմակերպության և ԱՊՀ անդամ պետությունների հետ»,- հավելել է Պուտինը։

Հիշեցնենք, որ դեռ հոկտեմբերի 29-ին Ռուսաստանի և Բելառուսի պաշտպանության նախարարների հանդիպումից հետո ՌԴ պաշտպանության նախարար Սերգեյ Շոյգուն նշել էր, որ մտադիր են Բելառուսին փոխանցել 4 միավոր Ս-300 զենիթահրթիռային համալիրներ։

Ըստ ռուսական աղբյուրների՝ համալիրների տրամադրումը պետք է իրականացվի տարածաշրջանային Միացյալ հակաօդային պաշտպանության համակարգի ստեղծման ծրագրի շրջանակներում։

Հավելենք, որ Միացյալ ՀՕՊ համակարգի ստեղծման մասին պայմանավորվածությունը ՌԴ-ի ու Բելառուսի միջև հաստատվել է դեռևս 2009-ի փետրվարին։ Նախատեսված էր դրա հիման վրա ստեղծել ԱՊՀ Արևելաեվրոպական հատվածի միասնական ՀՕՊ համակարգ։ Արդեն 2012-ի վերջին նախատեսված էր ստեղծել այդ համակարգի էլեկտրոնային կառավարում, որը կիրականացվեր ավտոմատացված ռեժիմով։

Նախատեսված է տարածաշրջանային միասնական ՀՕՊ համակարգեր ստեղծել նաև Կովկասում ու Միջին Ասիայում։ Մասնավորապես 2013-ին նույնպիսի պայմանավորվածություն է ձեռք բերվել Ռուսաստանի ու Ղազախստանի միջև, որից հետո, ըստ Ղազախստանի պաշտպանության նախարարի, ՌԴ-ն անհատույց Ղազախստանին էր հանձնելու Ս-300 համակարգեր։

Ենթադրվում է, որ տարածաշրջանային համակարգերի ստեղծումից հետո կմշակվի ԱՊՀ միացյալ ՀՕՊ համակարգի մարտական հերթապահության իրականացման ու տեղեկատվության փոխանակման կարգը։

Նշենք, որ ԱՊՀ միասնական ՀՕՊ համակարգը ստեղծվել է 1995-ի փետրվարին ԱՊՀ 9 պետությունների միջև կնքված պայմանագրով։ Ուկրաինան ու Ուզբեկստանը հետագայում սկսել են Ռուսաստանի հետ համագործակցել միայն երկկողմ հիմունքներով։ Իսկ ներկայումս համակարգի մաս են Հայաստանը, Բելառուսը, Ղազախստանը, Ղրղզստանը, Ռուսաստանը, Տաջիկստանն ու Թուրքմենստանը։
